No, it means they’re unprovenSo because they are unproven means they are no good?
I’m using a measurable statistic for pass rush. There’s a standard rule for what a sack is. And it is consistent, not subjective. But you use sacks? When a sack can occur from coverage or 6 seconds after hiking the football.
No. All teams need it to some degree of course.I’m confused so you are saying they don’t need pressure from the edges?
Well what championship defense managed to not get pressures? Because we can’t say that about Seahawks or Eagles….I’m using a measurable statistic for pass rush. There’s a standard rule for what a sack is. And it is consistent, not subjective.
No. All teams need it to some degree of course.
Wha I am saying is that it is not the end-all, be-all component to have a successful defense.
Some of the best defenses in the league did not need to lead the league in that particular area. They succeeded because they played sound team defense, with everyone knowing their role and executing when called upon.
Based on whose measurements? Which of the 100 different number of pressures are you referring to?Well what championship defense managed to not get pressures? Because we can’t say that about Seahawks or Eagles….
You said pressures are flawed? What about sacks? Seahawks had 47 sacks last year. Year prior Eagles had 41?Based on whose measurements? Which of the 100 different number of pressures are you referring to?
Yes. And you’re proving my point by not having a consistent source for them. You said pressures are flawed?
Proving that neither team had to have a dominating pass rush to have a top defense. That’s my point. What about sacks? Seahawks had 47 sacks last year. Year prior Eagles had 41?
Sure it does. But 12 sacks (Seattle’s 47) over 17 games isn’t a whole lot.35 sacks from the Cowboys last year needs to improve.
Ok you’re moving goal posts I never said we needed a dominate pass rush. Im advocating for getting pressure from edge.Yes. And you’re proving my point by not having a consistent source for them.

And I think you would agree that simply being rid of Eberflus and his staff will lead to improvement in this area. Addition by subtraction.
That makes zero sense.Ok you’re moving goal posts I never said we needed a dominate pass rush. Im advocating for getting pressure from edge.
Which part?That makes zero sense.
Used car salesmen talk to describe a perpetual position of weakness. They have talent that are in the developmental stage.
I would really be more comfortable with a veteran then counting on Ez coming back from major surgery and a rookie.Edge. In order for this work they have to get pressure from the edge. They will be good at one point but is it now? Not sure. The keys are Eze and Gary. Especially Eze.

He did not have major surgery. In fact, it is a minimally invasive procedure.I would really be more comfortable with a veteran than counting on Ez coming back from major surgery and a rookie.
They did trade for Phillips at the deadline to try to upgrade their rush.I honestly don’t think sacks are going to be a huge priority for Parker’s defense.
They weren’t in Philadelphia last year with Fangio. They’re a ‘nice to have’, but not a must have.
The Eagles were middle-of-the-pack in terms of sacks, with their sack leader having just 6.5 for the season.
But their secondary was #8 overall, and they allowed the 5th fewest points in the league.
Today’s best defenses are fundamentally sound, with players know their roles and assignments in all areas, rather than being overly reliant on any one player or group.
I think that’s what Parker is trying to build.
He is not. He just used non offensive terminology to explain they suck at that position.Where is he wrong?
Gary should be an upgrade over Clowney, especially as a run defender.Gary was a stud. Gary for whatever reason didn’t look like a stud last year. And the fact he was gonna get cut signals what he is or what they thought he was. I think Eze is the key because of the untapped potential and his ceiling being a 10 sack guy. Whatever we get from Gary is bonus. Right now we have Gary and a bunch of guys who have never done it.
