Which Receivers Make the 53?

I assume they keep 6 on the 53 and 1 or more to the PS.

53- CDL, Pickens, Tolbert, Mingo, Turpin, Flournoy

PS- best of Campbell, Brooks, Cropper and Harmon
I think we'll keep six on the 53 and at least two on the PS. I also think your six for the 53 are likely. Flournoy is the only spot I think that's really up for grabs unless Mingo or Tolbert is terrible, which I don't think is likely.

Mingo has actually caught more passes than Tolbert. Majority from his rookie season. Tolbert has a little more yards and 4 TDs (with Mingo zero).
Hopefully with an offseason in this system, he can show some of what he did as a rookie. Tolbert was definitely the better receiver last year, but Mingo was at a disadvantage since Tolbert has been in McCarthy's system for more than a couple years. He'd worked with the QBs on the roster longer and the QBs knew what to expect from him.

The first four are easy: Lamb, Pickens, Tolbert, Turpin.

I think they likely keep six. So, which two on the current roster have a shot to make the initial 53. And why?

Personally, my two guys are Holden and Cropper.

Holden is fast, and plays like an NFL receiver. His top speed is in the 98th percentile. He's that guy who can make plays on slams or down the field. Not the best route runner, but he gets good separation. To me, Holden is just a better football player at this point. Maybe I'm sleeping on Flournoy, but I'm giving Holden the edge over Flournoy because he plays with that so-called dog in him.

Cropper has been my pet cat since before we acquired him. The guy can just play. He's a bit undersized, but his weight and speed helps him get separation, which is a big part of his game.

Im looking for guys who can separate for WRs 5 and 6.

Why?

Because you always play a few teams that have sticky corners and so you need players with a knack for getting open, which both Holden and Cropper do well.

Not only that, I really like what they can both do after the catch.

I also like these two just for the chemistry they bring. As players, they'd give us more flexibility to run more WCO stuff, which I hope is part of the plan.

I'm not worried about draft picks spent on a player if an UDFA is better. Just go with the better player.

Which WRs do you think makes the roster and why?

Traeshon Holden has average speed, he is a physical route runner. Most likely will make practice squad due to his connections with Oregon wide receivers coach.
