But not a nfl mind or feet. The guy is a statue in the pocket and throws up the ball under pressure.

Yeah I wouldn't actually touch Mettenberger in the 3rd, he's just has a better shot at being an NFL QB than the other 2 in my opinion.

I go AJ. Never was really that impressed by him until the A&M game this past season. He went toe to toe with JF in that game and won it for Bama. Johnny would make a big play, and he would come back and make just as big of play. (Yes I know A&M was awful on defense). He's a winner and this team could use a lot of guys like him.

Is he? That's hoping for a lot.

Well looking at hos contract he is. If released after next year it's alot of dead money. Then if the restructure again next offseason after 2015 would be alot of dead money. Contract wise he won't be able to be released until after 2016. So yes its 2 to 3 more years.

I don't understand why people think they can just draft a qb in the 3rd or 4th and you have another great qb and is better than Romo. Look around the league. Not just any QB can produce at a high level.

There's talk that Mallet could fetch a 2nd and next year's 4th from a team this year. Speculation, at most right now, but not a bad harvest if you're that Pats and they pull it off.

NE will have a 37 year old Qb and they want to trade Mallet? If he was worth a crap he wouldn't be on the trading block. Buyer beware. I am interested to see the post Brady Patriots to see how great a franchise they really are.

Laughable it not. To each his own. I think any mid round QB in the draft would be a wasted pick for this team. It would be a stupid pick. Non of these 3 guys have it. You like Mettenberger I don't.

Speaking of lazy comparisons. Comparing him to Brady or Manning is laughable.

Look at what Mallet has done for NE. Nothing. Why waste a mid round pick on a player to sit on the bench for 3 years. Romo co tract makes him here for another 2 to 3 years.

Simple. Two back surgeries and the fact that Romo will be unaffordable in few years.

Doesn't matter. His cap hit to release will be to big. Not going to pay a player 20 million Dead money to leave.

Also where is the guarantee that one of these guys can come in and take over and lead this team to anything. Sorry but if Romo goes down we will have a top 10 pick. If it's serious enough to say. He is done. Then draft a QB that year. QBs are starring alot earlier than in the past.

Another thought would be to sign a free agent QB. Mallet or Cousins should be free soon or even Dalton. I would take one of those 3 over the 3 the OP mentioned.

He might? That's speculation for sure. Why spend a draft pick on a player to then trade for another pick in 3 years. Why not draft a player that could help the team the last three years.

I don't understand why teams trade for unproven QBS that were drafted mid rounds. You think Kolb, Cassel, and other failed traded qbs would would teach teams a lesson.

First you talk about dead money then suggest a free agent QB. That makes zero sense.

No you just can't understand basic logic. We have orton correct? A free agent QB won't cost any more than orton. Top qbs are available ever.

Sorry but I just don't understand the logic of drafting mid round QBs when you have a top 12 qb already. I want Romo to win now do I want players that can help now. Another qb will not help us now.
If romo goes down I don't trust any of these 3 QBs Drafted to help us any this year.

So just say we draft you favorite of the 3 in the 3rd round. Romo gets hurt and is now done for his career. Your qb is not going to help us and we have a top 8 pick. Now do we not draft a qb top 8 who is better than the one we just spent a 3rd on a year ago. I would rather wait and draft the better qb and draft a player jn the 3rd that can help us more this year.

You keep mentioning third. Some of these QBs are likely to be available in the 4th. To me, that is perfectly fine to look at a developmental QB. Especially one who would go higher if healthy.

The OP said 3rd that's why I said that. Just depends on who is available on the 4th. Can Still Find A Better Player In The 4th Than One Of These QBS

I will break my TV if this entire draft isn't spent on defense. Find a trade partner and trade down if the BPA is an offensive player at that pick.

Really? The guy is terrible IMO. Last year was awful. This year under Cameron he got better but the guy is a statue in the pocket. Also throws the ball up for grabs under pressure. No thanks.

He is a statue in the backfield.

QBs to be successful have to be mobile to some extent.

If he's around in the 3rd or 4th..I'd say OK.

But I really think we have tried too many guys like this that fall becuz of injury.

So McCarron would be my selection at QB.

Mallett will be an unrestricted free agent after this year. That is why New England would consider letting him go via trade especially if it nets them a 2nd round pick or more.
