Drafting a qb mid round this year will be like what the Patriots did drafting Mallet. He has added nothing to that team.
Really? The guy is terrible IMO. Last year was awful. This year under Cameron he got better but the guy is a statue in the pocket. Also throws the ball up for grabs under pressure. No thanks.
So he had one ok year and has a big arm and from LSU. Why no just go get Hamar us russell then.
Still stands in the pocket and makes bad throws under pressure and can't move. He will get killed in the NFL.
He's another Bledsoe which have no place in today nfl. Big arm and size is all he has.
Also my main point is why draft a qb in the mid rounds to sit for three years and then get a chance to start his last year. Just another Stephen McGee
All 3 are better than McGee, he should of been picked up as a udfa if they had interest in him(and this is coming from an A&M alum)Just another Stephen McGee

Better question is what Ohio valley Conference QB will Jerry select come May?
He was having a fantastic year, not an ok one.
Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Phillip Rivers and Eli Manning are just a few current pocket passers to name that had pretty okay careers, wouldn't you say?
Russell is such a lazy comparison... Yawn. I love when people try to throw his name out as if it's an actual reason to dislike a big arm QB.
McGee is another lazy name to throw out there, zero comparison. Pretty laughable.
I'm hoping its Murray... Who you got.
That doesn't make a difference it's still a wasted pick. Why draft a qb in the mid round to sit on a bench for 3 years. All 3 are better than McGee, he should of been picked up as a udfa if they had interest in him(and this is coming from an A&M alum)

What has Mallet done for NE. Nothing.
Out of the 3 you mention Mettenberger would be my choice and then McCarron. Mettenberger was lights out before he got hurt last year. It definately helps his case when he has OBIII and Landry to throw too but the kid was a gamer and progress his game under Cam Cameron tremendously.
McCarron would be a great choice to learn under Romo but McCarron doesn't have the big arm like Mettenburger especially onthe deep routes where WRs had to adjust too his deep ball where Mettenberger hit his WRs in stride more times than not.
Murray has the numbers started as a freshman, Hell it seems like he's been there forever but the kid just can't get it done in big games for some reason. Yes I fully aware that football is a team sport but the kid just have a loser omen that surrounds him. I don't think he has the size to be elite at the next level and doesn't have the speed to move outside the pocket like most Qbs his size. I believe Murray will be a capable backup inthe NFL at best but starter who can take us to the promise land, I seriously doubt. Its funny because most of my friends (cowboy haters) call Murray the Tony Romo of the SEC, Great Numbers who can't get it done at the end.
That's a really shortsighted attitude to have, what if Romo gets hurt this year and doesn't come back? It'd be nice to have a possible next qb already on the roster. You never want to be in the position of waiting until you have to draft a qb, that's how you end up with Jerry drafting Quincy Carter 2 rounds early.
Mettenberger is the only 1 with an NFL arm.
