Drafting a qb mid round this year will be like what the Patriots did drafting Mallet. He has added nothing to that team.

Really? The guy is terrible IMO. Last year was awful. This year under Cameron he got better but the guy is a statue in the pocket. Also throws the ball up for grabs under pressure. No thanks.

Yeah, and he has those two sexual battery incidents from 4 yrs ago. People in the know (like our LSU fans) say that he's nothing close to the RKG.

So he had one ok year and has a big arm and from LSU. Why no just go get Hamar us russell then.

Still stands in the pocket and makes bad throws under pressure and can't move. He will get killed in the NFL.

He's another Bledsoe which have no place in today nfl. Big arm and size is all he has.

Also my main point is why draft a qb in the mid rounds to sit for three years and then get a chance to start his last year. Just another Stephen McGee

He was having a fantastic year, not an ok one.

Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Phillip Rivers and Eli Manning are just a few current pocket passers to name that had pretty okay careers, wouldn't you say?

Russell is such a lazy comparison... Yawn. I love when people try to throw his name out as if it's an actual reason to dislike a big arm QB.

McGee is another lazy name to throw out there, zero comparison. Pretty laughable.

I hope none(at least not that high)... ONLY because I hope we get in on one of the QB's next year...
But If I had to choose it would be the kid from LSU, I like his size and deep ball. Although Aaron Murrary has been good for several years now.

Laughable it not. To each his own. I think any mid round QB in the draft would be a wasted pick for this team. It would be a stupid pick. Non of these 3 guys have it. You like Mettenberger I don't.

Speaking of lazy comparisons. Comparing him to Brady or Manning is laughable.

Look at what Mallet has done for NE. Nothing. Why waste a mid round pick on a player to sit on the bench for 3 years. Romo co tract makes him here for another 2 to 3 years.

All 3 are better than McGee, he should of been picked up as a udfa if they had interest in him(and this is coming from an A&M alum)
That doesn't make a difference it's still a wasted pick. Why draft a qb in the mid round to sit on a bench for 3 years.

What has Mallet done for NE. Nothing.

Mettenberger might actually be a perfect choice. A guy who in a year would go in the 1st that we can get in the 3rd/4th. And his recovery would give Romo time to finish his career. Drafting JFF would instantly create QB controversy. It would be worse than the circus Tebow would bring with him because JFF can actually play football.

That's a really shortsighted attitude to have, what if Romo gets hurt this year and doesn't come back? It'd be nice to have a possible next qb already on the roster. You never want to be in the position of waiting until you have to draft a qb, that's how you end up with Jerry drafting Quincy Carter 2 rounds early.

Out of the 3 you mention Mettenberger would be my choice and then McCarron. Mettenberger was lights out before he got hurt last year. It definately helps his case when he has OBIII and Landry to throw too but the kid was a gamer and progress his game under Cam Cameron tremendously.

McCarron would be a great choice to learn under Romo but McCarron doesn't have the big arm like Mettenburger especially onthe deep routes where WRs had to adjust too his deep ball where Mettenberger hit his WRs in stride more times than not.

Murray has the numbers started as a freshman, Hell it seems like he's been there forever but the kid just can't get it done in big games for some reason. Yes I fully aware that football is a team sport but the kid just have a loser omen that surrounds him. I don't think he has the size to be elite at the next level and doesn't have the speed to move outside the pocket like most Qbs his size. I believe Murray will be a capable backup inthe NFL at best but starter who can take us to the promise land, I seriously doubt. Its funny because most of my friends (cowboy haters) call Murray the Tony Romo of the SEC, Great Numbers who can't get it done at the end.

Murray is actually a great athlete. Not sure what you are talking about. He had a 60+ yard td run against Tennessee and a 20 yard td runvs Auburn. He actually was recruited as a duel threat qb.

One year too early to draft any QB to take over for Romo. And when it comes time to replace Romo I want a potential franchise QB selected in the first round. Even if it means packaging a deal similar to what the Commanders did to get Griffin. And if God forbid Romo goes down this year to injury, that will basically be the end of our season anyway. That shoots us up to the top of the first round in next years draft. And a better shot at a top QB..say like Winston.

You really think a 3rd or 4th round QB is the answer. If romo gets hurt were screwed anyways with one of these guys playing. Romo hurt we will be picking top 5. Go draft Hundley next year or a top 3 QB. These guys aren't the next anything. I've watched every sec game of every sec team the past 7 years. You act like one of these 3 are going to be hall of fame qbs. There is no guarantee on mid round QBs.

There's talk that Mallet could fetch a 2nd and next year's 4th from a team this year. Speculation, at most right now, but not a bad harvest if you're that Pats and they pull it off.
