Why would the Cowboys who have just drafted and invested in two CBs between 2nd and 4th rounds, (Diggs & Robinson) and still have the plans to re-sign leftover CBs Awuzie,
and Lewis ? Those two are on borrowed time here. And that's taking in consideration that they have legit market value as FAs.
- If it's truth to the rumor that the team is considering moving Awuzie to safety, then apparently they don't think in team's mind
that Awuzie is the best of the three. Unless they consider it imperative to move Awuzie in as a starter over Woods or Dix.
With a new coaching regime, i dunno how the current leftover crop is viewed in their minds.
- Apparently they think a lot of Anthony Brown to re-sign him to a long term deal.
I assume its a 3rd CB role but could they see him as a potential starter this year ? ( Yikes!) But We'll see.
- If Lewis does not ascend to the 3rd CB role, he will remain on the depth chart as a 4th CB, and depart in FA, imo.
- If Woods excels in a new different coverage scheme this year, he will be in content for a 2nd career contract renewal.
at And I'm not sold on either Xavier or Dix as sound reliable tackers.
- And will this be another yer 1 year deal for Dix ? ..who has a pro bowl invite to his resume, but he hasn't been coveted impact for a long term
deal from his last two NFL teams. He's seen as a plug in stopgap until the Cowboys can come up with better. (Jamal Adams?)
