"Cheese Trumpet"Watch them on YouTube as well. Normally the better skits or cold opens will be uploaded while the lesser skits are not. So basically with you tube you find the... Best of.
Oh and if you look up and watch SNL Kate McKinnon close encounter skits and don't laugh... Better check your pulse.
Play the We need more Cowbell skit for us!!!!I will occasionally watch an SNL skit on youtube, but I haven't watched the SNL show in well over 10 years.
It really hasn't been funny to me in a very long time, but I blame the writing more than the acting.
One of my SNL favorites from Belushi that wouldn't be shown today.... especially starting around 2:36.
Lol!!! I did the same thing last night. It is funny you make this thread!! I was watching the movie A Star is Born this weekend (it was alright) and there is a part where she is doing an SNL music appearance. I turned to the wife and mentioned how I haven't watched an SNL in ages!! I couldn't even tell you who is on there anymore.
I thought it was great in the 90s! Chris Farley, Adam Sandler, etc. etc. Then it hung strong for a bit into the 2000s and it kind of fell off a cliff for me around 2010 or so. Not that I watched it religiously but I would catch it from time to time.

Never seen it before. Didn't find it amusing. Belushi must have been making fun of himself since he puked his life away. Sad. He was really talented.
It goes through phases. Right now, it's at a low point.People have been saying SNL isn't as funny as it used to be for forty years.lol
I do admit to feeling old when I have no idea who the musical guest is..but they've always had quirky up n coming bands
If you've never seen Joe Cocker perform, he makes a lot of spastic movements when he sings. Belushi's performance had nothing to do with drugs.Never seen it before. Didn't find it amusing. Belushi must have been making fun of himself since he puked his life away. Sad. He was really talented.
Whatever.Whatever.
You're watching it for the first time while knowing how John's life would end. Remember the video was done while John was ALIVE, meaning that in its context, it was a send up of Joe Cocker's mannerisms and no one: not John, Joe, you or I would have any idea how things would turn out.
Joe apparently hated it so much he agreed to go on stage with Belushi at a later date and sing live while John mimicked him.
I get that.Just didn't think it was funny.
Belushi's imitation of Joe Cocker was exaggerated, but not by much and the faces was pretty much spot on........lol Cocker was kinda spasticWhatever.

Keep politics out of this thread!
.. and that includes both direct and indirect references.
"Varmint Cong"Not liking or missing SNL is one of the few advantages of getting old that I'm aware of...... "So I got that goin' for me... which is nice"
