Who do you cut Brown, Trigg or Mafah

Madagascar would be who I cut, but who knows... we've seen some crazy roster cuts with a hand shake to bring veterans back after the initial cut so we can get guys to the returnable IR.

if the Cowboys wanted to keep Brown they would not be playing him..he would be stashed on the sidelines like Triggs. But I think the Cowboys are playing Brown with hopes of using him for trade bait. Triggs on the other hands has huge potential in a position of need. I am keeping Trigg and hope Brown clears waivers. But Mafa is gone IMO
Trigg is on the sideline because he's been hurt.

Dallas also is playing Jonathan Mingo, so if your idea that they would not be playing a player if they wanted to keep him were correct, then wouldn't Mingo's spot also be unsecure? For that matter all of our backup linemen except Bass are playing. We not keeping them?

Maffah = JAG. cut him, he will never be more than that. He will easily clear waivers and could put on practice squad.

Mafah and Trigg could easily end up on the practice squad. Fan favorites to some in here but reality these are JAGs

Brown not so much.. A lot of teams are banged up at the WR position and Brown has made plays and generated hype as a result (thanks to the Cowboy's sport media) Potential is promising and can sign for pennies on the dollar.

I think Camden stays, and if you absolutely must cut a Wr, then it would be Mingo IMO. I know he has had a good camp, not as good even slightly as camden AND Mingo has two years to prove himself.
I would like Trigg to be on the 53 and I would go ahead and cut schoony to do it, even though he hasn't been on the field long enough to prove better than Schoony, so a little risky but I like Triggs prospects more.
Mafah, ehhh cut him. Wouldn't even bother me if we didn't bring him back, but yeah definitely not holding a spot for him on the 53

If the Cowboys only keep 5 WRs, and 3 TEs and 3 RBs who stays and who goes. I think Michael Triggs is the #1 keeper and the most likely to be picked off waivers as TE is a huge need on teams. Cameron Brown may also not clear waivers but the Cowboys have more depth at WR than TE... I think Mafah is gone either way and Israel "Izzy" Abanikanda can easily be stashed on the practice squad.

Keep - Michael Triggs
Cut - Cameron Bronwn
Cut - Phil Mafah
Too easy.select a better candidate then Mafa

Yeah you just gotta hope you can get them stashed back on the practice squad as much as I liked Phil and I still do His skill set's not special, And I really am more interested in finding a way to get Israel on this 53 but I don't know how you're gonna do that either I think he's a cross between Phil and Davis he's got size and speed II just think he has something I don't know why I just do..

Yes tough cuts are coming none of those guys may make the roster II agree with you people need to stop falling in love with people we are too deep at some of these positions and they're gonna have to make tough cuts and there's gonna be some unhappy fans..

Look at it this way if they exposed Flournoy last year multiple times they've done it with Cooper Rush in the past these dudes are not safe they have done nothing...

So I've seen better players that the Cowboys liked more end up being cut and brought to the practice squad and some of them got exposed I thought Fairweather was our best tight end in preseason in camp last year and they put him on the practice squad and we lost him it is what it is..
Talented rosters cannot keep everyone. Think keeping a 6th receiver who won't be active makes zero sense. The last spot comes down to either him or Mingo, not both.

I like Mafah and think he can be a decent backup but if I have to choose of those, he gone

We once again enter that time of year whereby the possibility of someone's pet cat not making the 53-man roster will doom this team to mediocrity this season and beyond. Keep emotion out of this and show a little perspective. As exciting and promising as Brown looks - and Trigg as well - keep in mind that their play is against other team's backups.

I am surprised that some minimize the importance of special teams players like Turpin, Mingo, and Schoonmaker, who many have suggested be cut/traded to keep Brown. Special teams are important - just as important as the other two phases. Games can be won or lost because of a missed or blocked FG, a poor punt, or a fumble on a return. In order for Brown or Trigg to make this team, they have to show some ability to contribute on special teams, because at the end of the day, that is where they will make their bread and butter first.

To answer the question on whom I would keep, the answer is Trigg. It's unlikely that Schoonmaker will get a second contract. I am still not 100% sold on Ferguson. Spahn-Ford is a good blocking TE and good for a handful of looks a game, but not much more. This gives Trigg the advantage in securing a future spot.

By keeping 6 receivers on the roster - assuming we keep Turpin and Mingo - means we go light somewhere else. To what advantage? To keep a guy who will be inactive for much of the entire season unless we have injuries to the WR group. You have to consider where he stands in the pecking order. There are only so many players by which the ball can be distributed. The top 3 options on offense are Lamb, Pickens, and Williams. The next three options are likely to be Flournoy, Ferguson, and either Turpin, or the 2nd RB spelling Williams. Sorry, I just don't see many opportunities for Brown to come in, secure a handful of catches for 70 yards and a TD.
It’s not just about this season. In a year or two Brown could have a much bigger role. The advantage is long term.

I read all the way down to 'Keep - Michael Triggs' and then experienced a seizure.

I think all three could be final roster cuts, where they try to bring them onto their PS. Everyone loves Brown, but they cannot keep 6 WR's on this roster, makes zero sense.
They can if one of them takes the extra special teams spot filled by Goodwin last year.

Trigg is looking like an IR stash.

So if it comes down to Brown or Mafah, I am keeping Brown. He's showing real ability at WR. I like Mafah but he's not special. He can't do anything Malik Davis, Jaydon Blue, or Izzy Abanakanda can't do.

Why are so many people resigned to the fact this team can't keep 6 WRs, as if it's some kind of rule?

Just keep Brown AND Mingo. Simple. This team can do so at the expense of a tenth OL or something that will be declared inactive on gameday anyway.
