Beasty/Dp...

DP is going to be a force at LB

@ 5' 10......I doubt it. I keep hearing the London Fletcher comparisons.....I just don't see it. Think he is gonna be a human speed bump @ this level.

it would be hard for me to pass on Perryman, but i think Odighizuwa is going to be a very good DE for somebody. Hope its dallas. He is NFL ready right now.

You grade OO higher than the other 3?

yes. I know people not on the westcoast are in the blind on him right now. But this guy is awsome.

I would grade them for Dallas

Gurley
Odighizuwa
Perryman
Bennett
Beasley

How about a trade back into the high 2nd and 3rd range..
Target CB Williams and RB Coleman in the 2nd
Target DE Smith and trade 2nd 3rd for a 4th and 5th
Target OT Williams and OG Myers in the 4th
Target OLB/DE Vallos and CB/FS Thomas in the 5th
Target OLB Ryan and DT Davison in the 7th

I'd be happy with that haul....

If OO is so great why did Orchard and Kikaha get 17-18 sacks vs the same competiton and he only got 6. Even Hardisan at ASU got 10. Not like OO didn't have NFL talent around him.

i said he was great? I just think he'd be better in the NFL. Orchard and Kikaha are different types of players. Theyre tweeners Odighizuwa is a NFL ready 4-3 DE.

Excuse me. I misquoted you. You said he was awesome. As if there's a huge difference.

Every argument you make is based on college stats....if you actually watched Owa play you would realize that he played mostly contain as a 3-4 DE. Rushing the passer was not his main priority on most plays. And thats not even discussing how much better he would be against the run than those guys.

Orchard is close and you could make a fair argument either way depending on what Rod is looking for.

I don't care if OO plays the run better than them because I'm not advocating drafting them. I'm talking about his production or lack there of as a pass rusher. They don't throw the ball a lot in the PAC 12? He didn't have a ton of opportunities to rush the passer? NFL GM's and scouts don't make evaluations based on production? It's not like he went to the Senior Bowl and wowed people as a 4-3 DE. The athleticism is there. The production isn't.

Do you not understand what playing contain means?

Doubt Beasley is available at 27.

Bennett would be my choice.

Yes. Why did they put him at a position where that was his primary responsibility.

Even with that he was rushing the passer as 4-3 DE in nickel a ton and didn't produce and I'm not the only one mentioning or concerned with that.

That is the correct answer. Another could be that none will be available.
Agree that who we get in FA is key.
I bet 3-4 of those listed are available. I doubt Beasley is though. If so, that'd be the choice.

No, production is not a big factor in draft evaluations. There are too many variables like level of competition, scheme, etc..

The primary eval tool for scouts and GMs is the game tape. They can see burst that that type of thing regardless of the scheme or level of competition.

Tyrone Crawford was the best player on the Cowboys defense this season. He didn't have a sack until 3/4 of the way through the season.

my concern with OO is the two hip surgeries back in 2013. Is he completely healthy and does this hamper his hip fluidity in the future?

I see lots of potential later in the draft.....Mario Edwards Jr., Zadarius Smith, Preston Smith, Lynden Trail, Henry Anderson, Cedric Reed, Anthony Chickillo, Ray Drew, and James Rouse
