Who Do You Like at #34?

It doesn't get as much airtime as the Wentz at #4 talk, but we basically have two first rounders this draft and are quite capable of adding another impact player with this pick. Who do you like?

Here's some names off the top of my head; not sure who I would actually choose this far out from the draft, but something to talk about.

One other footnote: DT's are super deep this year in late one/early two so that could either push a good prospect at another position down or possibly give us another option inside.

It happens every year. None of the talking heads/mock drafters know what any team's draft board looks like, they're just going on what they perceive to be the best combo of BPA and biggest need for a given team. Some players projected in round two will slide up which, of course, forces some in round one to slide down. The good part of that is, we're sure to get what many perceive to be a first rounder with our pick in round two. Hopefully, those that slide will also fill a need.

If we go QB, then I am looking at (in no particular order):

DT (Austin Johnson, Kenny Clark, Sheldon Rankins, Adolphus Washington)
DE (Kevin Dodd)
CB (Kendall Fuller, Eli Apple)
WR (Josh Doctson, Michael Thomas, Tyler Boyd)

I think any of the above would be day 1 starters for us.

If don't go QB at #4 (assume we go Myles Jack, Bosa or Ramsey):

Same DTs as above
Same WRs as above
QBs (Paxton Lynch if he falls, Hackenberg)

At 34, we're likely to get a chance to draft a first round talent, so whom ever that is, I'd take him. Would love if it were a RB, DT or CB

I think the top of the 2nd round is the sweet spot for big ol' DT's in this draft, I will go with Billings or Butler.

I like Darian Thompson, but I think the staff is happy with Jones and Church at safety (not that I am).

I want a RB, but I think we can get a good one to pair with McFadden in rounds 3 or 4.

I would not mind a receiver or CB if a good lands there.

WR is a good bet,lot of good Wrs who are not 1st Rders will be available at 34.

If we didn't go QB in RD1 and Lynch was still sitting there in the mid-20s, I'd trade up.

Otherwise, DT. There are probably a half dozen guys at DT who may be available at 34. Nkemdiche might be this years lead balloon. Sheldon Rankins, Austin Johnson, Jarran Reed, Vernon Butler, Kenny Clark, Adolphus Washington. Maybe even Jonathan Bullard or Carl Nassib if the team feels they can move inside.

Outside of DT, the guys on my list are:

Darian Thompson-S
Josh Doctson-WR
Derrick Henry-RB
Artie Burns-CB
Kenneth Dixon-RB

I could also live with a gamble/reach on Oakman. I don't really like what I see on film consistently, but DL guys with wingspan who can run and work hard generally find a role.

But it all depends on free agency. If we don't sign a CB we may be forced to use an early pick on a DB.

Yep, I see either a DT or CB here, if the QB we like is gone a small trade down to around 10 or so would be perfect to pick up a 3rd or 2nd rounder. Think the likes of Billings, Robertson Nkemdiche etc. are gone. So my pet cat for round 2 is actually Vernon Butler. Between him and Reed would be the direction I would go. And if we did manage to pick up another 2nd or 3rd - that would be the best CB left on the board.

For me if Doctson and Henry are both there I might flip a coin. This team needs offensive playmakers in the worst way!
