Who do you think Brooking hit??

Couldnt be Newman....Newman is a little edgy...and would push back...maybe Jenkins or Scandrick...or pat Watkins

Not to mention it would be utterly ridiculous and foolish for Brooking to just walk in as the new guy on the team and slap a veteran upside the head.

I think it was Newman.
I seem to remember Newman and Campo going at it on the sideline in one game.
I think the incident that Collingsworth was referring to was in the first Commander game in which Brooking just missed tipping a pass from Campbell that converted a long third down and I seem to remember Newman yelling at Brooking as the wr was in front of Newman.
What ever happened after that the camera's didn't show.

Probably Roy Williams.

Every man has two "you know whats" - a PRIMARY and a SECONDARY.

Brooking nailed Roy in the SECONDARY - hence the "Brooking hit someone in the secondary"

Ditto. Moments like this (Brooking head slap gate) really expose some fans true feelings about players. These type of situation makes the implausible possible in some fans eyes. I don't like Newman and I wish I could slap him up side the head ergo Brooking slapped Newman, lol.

Notice Brooking did not slap a DL or another LB, lol.

I happen to know for a fact that it was Newman that Brooking hit.

How do you know this?

Please don't tell me you read somebody's lips.

Would seem to work both ways wouldnt it? As in the .."Notice Brooking didnt slap a D.L or another L.B" dig. Ive got no problem with you personally, Nor do I really care WHO brooking slapped, its just that IF for some reason it DOES turn out to be Newman you are really setting yourself up for epic Fail with some of your responses...

And BTW.....Im PRETTY sure it was IN FACT Newman. Not positive...YET, but pretty sure.

I can't speak for anyone else but, if it is indeed Tnew that he slapped i have no problem with saying i was wrong. It won't be the end of the world and it won't be the first or last time i've been wrong.

I just have a hard time believing that. Outside of the fact that that would have been a risky and ballsy move on Brooking's part, I don't think Tnew would be able to refrain from retaliating and this story would have been a huge story.

In fact, out of ALL the people on this thread it is YOU that comes off as looking like you have an agenda. Oh No, How DARE Brooking slap one of my very own Pet Cats, it just CANT be Newman....LOL Just from skimming thru the thread I would bet you have three quarters of the people NOW HOPING it was Newman...

it irritates me to no end how willing fans are to crap on our players.

no loyalty at all, it's all about being right and proving something

You replied to yourself??

Im certainly not crapping on ANY of our players. Care less WHO it was he slapped. I just find it funny how some just ASSUME that it JUST cant be Newman....because he is one of their pet cats. YET........point fingers at others. WOW! Too funny. Gonna LMAO when it is confirmed that Newman was IN FACT the receiver of the beatdown...:lmao2:

I agree with this.
I posted about how I thought it was Newman who Brooking hit but I really have no problem with that happening. Doesn't anyone remember what it was like playing in a football season? This kind of stuff and other crazy stuff happens all the time. If your team does not have confrontations, arguements and fights then more-than-likely they have given up or just do not care. A good team is made up of competitive individuals and you need some friction to grow as a team and as teammates. I know everyone has favorite players but I see nothing wrong from Brooking cracking Newman. This happens during a season.

It's not because Newman is a pet cat, it's because the idea of Brooking slapping around a 6 year vet seems silly. Heirarchy in the NFL usually works on seniority, and it's much more plausible to think that he'd act Alpha Dog on a younger guy. It's common logic.

All I KNOW is this....I have no problem with Newman, I think he is a FINE cornerback. Maybe not pro bowl level, but very good. But the fact remains that Brooking has done FAR more in his career than Newman ever has. Brooking is, and has been, a better linebacker then Newman has been a c.b. Those are just the simple FACTS. Brooking is a multiple Pro bowler, a proven winner that has guided a defense to a Superbowl. He just has far more skins on the wall then Newman does,. So, If it all does work on a HEIRARCHY theory as you suggest, then YEAH, I CAN see Brooking slapping Newman due to the facts stated above.

And ANOTHER thing...Its no big secret that the leadership on this team was just NOT getting it done. Newman was a part of that leadership. Maybe what we saw, well we didnt see it but, what we saw in the slapping incident was a CHANGING of the guard in leadership/ IF SO? Great...im all for it because the results have been very positive. In fact, im pretty sure thats one of the reasons Wade wanted Brooking,...to be his ON FIELD enforcer, leader. Least from a fans perspective thats SURE how it looks to me.
