I think someone is making fun of us.

Miles is just loved here for his performance, background, work ethic and love of the game. But he has a rather unique style about him and it is hard to find another proper comparator for him.

Have any of those guys had a 3 game stretch like Miles had in his first three starts? If you averaged the 11 games since he began starting over a 16 game season, he'd have 1671 yards and 15 TDs.

Jerry Rice had 1 season with more yardage and only 2 seasons with more TDs.

Terrell Owens never had a season with that many yards and had only 1 season with more TDs.

Tim Brown, Art Monk, Andre Johnson and Larry Fitzgerald have never had that many TDs or yards in a season.

So, yeah, I hope you do appreciate how great these last 11 games have been for Miles. It truly is something amazing and out of the ordinary.

Miles is a WR who is a decent route runner, decent hands, very fast and very big...combine the two and he's extremely fast for his size. He's also a tough guy to tackle.

Sounds just like a younger Owens. Jerry Rice didn't have that great of hands. In fact, the Niners seriously questioned his hands after his first season. The thing with him was he was a fantastic route runner, extremely quick and tough, good but not great speed and his calling card was he had impeccabe endurance. He could run the last route of the game just as fast and as quick and as precise as the first route of the game. Very tough to do.

Miller was more of a pure speed guy with a couple of good season, from what I recall. He did a stint with the Cowboys after Harper left in free agency.

the comparisons that I like which have been thrown out there are:

route running: kind of like Andre Reed in style
fluidity: reminiscent of Rice
RAC: similar ability to TO although I think the style is pure Miles with those cuts, that balance and that body lean
joy: he brings that joy of the game, all those smiles on the field like Hines Ward

Laverneous Coles...

I was suprised to see this. It just hit me that he reminds me of a young Laverneous Coles. Speed, grit, routes...Coles led the NYJ passing offense with these attributes for years.

I also believe Santana Moss in his early years is an apt comparison.

I think the comparison to Andre Reed is the best.

Another WR he puts me in mind of, in terms of size and the way he moves is Jake Reed, who was excellent in the mid-90s with the Vikings. Reed lived in the shadow of Chris Carter and then Randy Moss, but he was a very good, productive WR before Moss got there and took his job.
