jterrell;3827667 said:my thoughts exactly.
the team has a solid young LT now yo go get a plus RT and the OL can be a strength again in short order.
you don't wait to draft tackles. they go high.
CATCH17;3827679 said:Agreed.
People thinking some of these tackles wont go in the 1st round are kidding themselves.
It's a premium position.
The Realist;3827752 said:Must I remind everyone Andre Smith went 6.
There isn't an Orlando Pace or Joe Thomas in the group but these tackles are pretty damn good.
Also, as a group this OL group is off the charts smart.

We could use some brains on the OL after being tops in offensive penalties for a while here.

Tell me about his production.
What part of "except Aaron and Justin Smith." didn't you understand.
That's 2 out of 100's over the years.
Work on your reading comprehension.

realtick;3827769 said:Lol, no you didn't know that, because if you did you wouldn't have brought up a contrast of Jordan and only "the best 3-4 DE's are use to playing in traffic as DT in college..." nonsense. Or at the very least not walked head-first into that contradiction had you known.
What about his production? He had 6 sacks and 12.5 TFL playing DE/DT last season. He also racked up 62 tackles, which is incredibly productive for a lineman in a 12 game season.
Me bringing up Aaron Smith and Justin Smith was simply using the irony of the players you named to dispell that crap notion you tried to forward previously "the best 3-4 DE's are use to playing in traffic as a DT in college vs on the edge as a college DE."
Oh, I only named two? How about Julius Peppers, Mario Williams, Justin Tuck, Carlos Dunlap, et cetera.
Let me guess, "drrrrrrrr, well thaaaaaaat's only six now!"
Yeah, my reading comprehension is just fine. The problem is when I'm reading crap.

If you can't understand maybe you should loosen up your helmet a little.
Peppers, Williams, Tuck, Dunlap.
You mean all those 3-4 DE's.
Damn......you got me you're too smart.

Peterson - Overrated; not good enough in coverage
Bowers - Doesn't rush the passer well enough
Quinn - Hasn't played in a year
Miller - Too small
Prince - Got beat in one game a couple times by an All American receiver; plus, too many people have trouble pronouncing his name
Jordan - 1st round DE's never do anything; we don't want another Spears
Any QB - Don't need one
Any OL - Not rated high enough by all the draft "experts"
Dareus - More of a 4-3 DT
JJ Watt - see Jordan
Ingram - Don't need him
Rahim Moore - You don't take a safety in the top 10; look at what happened when we drafted RW
AJ Green - SEC WR's never do anything in the NFL
Julio Jones - see AJ Green
Ryan Kerrigan - came from the same school as Spencer: don't want that kind of disappointment again

realtick;3827789 said:Caught looking dumb, you show a better backpedal than Revis.
"waaa, I just said Aaron Smith and Justin Smith!"
What don't you comprehend? This is your mouth vomit below:
"I also don't like drafting big DE's, whether they be from a college 4-3 or 3-4 and playing them at 3-4 DE in the league. Those guys have zero success rushing the QB except for Aaron and Justin Smith."
Julius Peppers, Justin Tuck, Mario Williams, Carlos Dunlap....all "big" DEs and all successful.
Hey, rocks for brains, I'm still waiting for your proof regarding your "only the best 34 DEs." I'm sure you'll keep ignoring it, hoping it will just go away don't you.
Darn that 15 minute edit rule!
junk;3828161 said:I don't think you understand what he is saying. He is saying that he doesn't think bigger guys who played end in college have a lot of success rushing the passer when they are playing 3-4 DE in the NFL with the exception of Aaron and Justin Smith.
Peppers, Tuck, Williams and Dunlap are all 4-3 defensive ends, so those aren't what he is talking about.
Players that are playing a 3-4 end position in the NFL that were big defensive ends in college (in either a 3-4 or 4-3 defense at college)
