Who Don`t You Want

If you're going to draft a DE in one I think Watt had far better production than Jordan and has better size.

The Realist, thanks for the explanation. I appreciate your reasoning. I think Watt is a nice player too. I think Jordan has something to be special, but I understand where you are coming from. Thanks for taking the time to explain it.

I also don't like drafting big DE's, whether they be from a college 4-3 or 3-4 and playing them at 3-4 DE in the league. Those guys have zero success rushing the QB except for Aaron and Justin Smith.

The best 3-4 DE's are use to playing in traffic as a DT in college vs on the edge as a college DE. They are use to interior pass rush in nickel whereas guys like Spears, Canty, Hatcher.................aren't.

I think you can get the same DE at 41.

If you're going to draft a DE in one I think Watt had far better production than Jordan and has better size.

That's interesting because Cam Jordan played both outside at DE and inside at DT with Cal. You say you're a Nor Cal homer and you weren't aware of that?

Justin Smith, who you named was a DE at Missouri as was Aaron Smith at N. Colorado.

So what is this notion of "the best 3-4 DE's are used to playing in traffic as a DT in college [...]" and what is that conjecture even founded on?

Whoa.

Differing opinions without calling each other idiots or insinuating that the other person doesn't know what they're talking about?

That's rarer than black unicorns around these parts.

That deserves a slow clap.

You're making me feel bad. Now I wish the 15 minute edit/time limit didn't expire.

Haha, don't worry, I wouldn't say your post was rude by any measure.

lol not rude by a little aggresive . no slow clap for him..

My feeling on the DE at 9 pick is that it's a deep D-line draft there will be a good one there in r2 or even r3 . i just can't get excited about using our top pick on a end this high and pay him what it could cost to re-sign spears or another free agent . Im not saying it not a need but not at 9

Guys I think are insanely overrated by our scheme but mentioned at 9?

Solder, Von Miller.

Anyone on the Oline and Patrick Peterson.

Or Dareus, or Daquan Bowers.

CB version of our current # 88. Can only imagine how they could make one another better practicing against one another.

Fairley. Only if he goes to the Steelers will he NOT have at least one PF per game and be suspended halfway through the season.

I'm very aware Jordan rushed inside some at Cal.

Tell me about his production.

What part of "except Aaron and Justin Smith." didn't you understand.

That's 2 out of 100's over the years.

Work on your reading comprehension.

in the first round. I think we can find a starter in the 2nd round.

That is the approach the Cowboys have had for years. How is that working them ?

I wouldn't want any player at all @ #9 (OK, well maybe Fairley, but he's not there).

I want the extra player in round 2 by trading down a bit.

I think the Cowboys strategy has been to find starters in the 6th round, actually. :D

No player that I can say I don't want but I hope we don't reach for a player. There are some 1st rd OL players I would love to add to the team but not at 9 overall.
