Who else is numb and really doesn't even care after the last two weeks?

For me personally I had to just walk away from all the media and anticipation for upcoming games.
There is no way I could ever have seen winning the first three games in the fashion we did and then
laying a turd in the bed two weeks in a row in the fashion we did. It defies logic quite honestly
and at this point I;m just numb and unattached comparatively to how I was after going 3-0.

It really doesn't defy logic. In hindsight you could see it coming, if that makes any sense. The Commanders played us tough for a half and they're garbage. Same with the Dolphins, mistakes and uninspired play for a full half. They almost took the lead after being down 10-0 if not for a fumble! That said, does it defy logic that the Packers stomped us early on? They're not the Commanders or Dolphins.

...know the feeling. Patterns for the most part dont lie, based on general stats and standards. Garrett is avg coach with winning potential that's it. A championship coach is not part of his mental genre.
If we get lucky and somehow make the playoffs will be done 1st round, as usual. Again the pattern is the basis.

Agreed. He would fit better coaching a team like the Cardinals, Bengals, Browns, Titans, or Dolphins. Teams that really need someone to make them relevent. We need someone who is good at accountability like Parcells was. Someone who knows how to make the players respect them. And we need someone who can get us a 1T and a great safety finally.

I'm trying to fight it, but yeah, a bit of melancholy has set in.

What did it for me is the chaos I've observed in the last 2 games. We were quite simply a mess. Looked like a buncha chickens running around out there.

It helps to accept one truth that is not changing anytime soon. Booger is not vulnerable to losing or bad football. Even when his team was 4-12, missing the QB1, it was still a top dog in the ratings. He answers to no one and can do whatever he wants and will still be the most profitable team and lead in ratings and revenue, the real game.

Think about it, this team has risen to where it is without real accomplishment. Two teams have passed them in Lombardi's and they haven't been a really relevant playoff team in 23 years. They can't even capitalize from homefield throughout, usually the number one way to get to the Big Dance.

The product has been hit and miss, more miss than hit, yet in ratings and revenue, it has no peer. There are no virtually no consequences to any decisions made, he can do anything he wants and not suffer and he knows it. Think about that.

It is truly an amazing phenomena, to achieve this amount of success without being successful. The Dallas Cowboys are the anomaly, the impotent porn star.

I don't necessarily agree with you and I will tell you why. The way we handled those first three games was completely different than how we would of handled them in the past! We would of never won by those margins and looked how we did on offense! We have played bad teams before and typically we would still only squeak out a narrow victory. The reason this season felt different is we we're playing decent on defense but REALLY improving offensively based on how we handled games in the past. Any logical fan would make the assumption that we have improved as a team assuming that the defense continues to build and our offense makes a big leap.

I have to admit to thinking the packers game could go either way, but after losing to a teddy bridgwater led saint's team I didn't expect to be down 30 to 3 at home against a packers team that just got fleeced by the eagles at home. Sure Rogers has our number, but I expected a total war after that close loss in New Orleans. So yes, to my eyes, it defies logic based on history and the progression of our team from last year until now.

The last thing I want to point out is it's true I have no faith in Garrett and expect him to fail at some point, but I was holding out hope that he had been completely castrated of all coaching duties but clapping.

Yes, we all know how the brand itself excels, but I for one have done my part in the sense that I haven't spent a dollar on going to game or buying anything cowboys related for 20 years plus. The last time I bought something cowboys related back in the 90's when I got a superbowl hat or something like that. I went to Jerry World once because a good friend of mine had two tickets to a game and took me....

I’ve written a few summaries similar to yours here in the past as well Coach...

To accomplish selling such an inferior product for so long to so many defies all principles of economic supply and demand.

Gotta be some kinda evil marketing subliminal mass hypnosis to continue fooling so many and for so long.

Yep...

If the qualifier/quantifier is bottom line profit...No doubt

If recent football championships...Not so lucky success.

Depends on your definition I guess, lol

come 430 on sunday everyone is going to be excited to watch regardless....thats just the nature of the beast....
Yes, most of us will be excitable, but many of us will go in a bit numb such as myself with a guard up. I full expect it to be close and a possible loss. If anyone in their right
mind believes the the jets are an easy win after getting manhandled by the packers and down 30 to 3 at one point is smoking some good stuff.

I'm not too upset over the Saints loss. A good defense always trumps a good offense. What bothered me more was the way Dallas lost to the Packers. Down 31-3 early on is playing like Miami. It's embarrassing. I put that on the coach. Regardless of his duties, it's his job to create the culture of this team. That had to be the 50th time I've seen the Cowboys come out flat and uninspired. I've seen it maybe 2-3 times with Jimmy Johnson. I never once remember that under Tom Landry regardless of how bad the team was. But it happens a lot under Garrett. Then when it appears his job is on the line he somehow mysteriously has the team pumped up and wins a big game. I don't know how he pulls it off.

We have one of the most talented rosters in the NFL, nearly negated by three things:

1)Defensive scheme that makes us vulnerable to the run.
2)Poor adjustments during games.
3)Bad special teams.

Fix one, we make the NFCCG.
Fix two, we make the Super Bowl.
Fix all three, we win the Super Bowl in dominating fashion.

I was a military brat. My father is from Battle Creek, MI and my mom is from Dallas, TX (Bryan Adams high school grad). We lived in Australia when I was little and mom always told me about the Cowboys. I did not get to see an American football game until we left Australia and stayed with my grandparents in Dallas for a few weeks while we were en route to our new house in California. Those few weeks were in January of 1978. The first Cowboys game I ever saw was them defeating the Broncos in the Super Bowl. The entire house, hell, the entire neighborhood was euphoric that night. It was a great way to be introduced to the mythical warriors that my mother had told me about my entire childhood up to that point. Needless to say, my Cowboy fandom was set into stone that night when I was 7 years old.

I told you all that to tell you this; my affinity with the Cowboys is not something I can just turn on and off at will. It is an indelible part of my being. Just like the music you listen to or the kind of cars you gravitate towards. If you LOVE Camaros you will always love them, even if the new models take some getting used to (or even if they downright SUCK). Nothing the Cowboys can do or not do will make them NOT a part of who I am at my core. This is both a blessing and a curse, but it is a fact. I guess what I am saying is that if they win I am happy and if they lose I am sad, but I keep it in perspective. They are indeed part of who I am, but they aren't a major part. My life functions won't cease if the Cowboys fail, likewise I won't be faster or stronger or more handsome if they succeed. Football is just a distraction for almost everyone on this board. Realize that and prioritize that in your life accordingly.
