Who else thinks we should cut Ellis?

As a matter of fact, I have. Snapped it clean in two. You don;t come back from it the same, I don't care who you are.

Then why are you claiming he is just refusing to play when its only been like 9 months since he tore it?

Read the posts nit wit. Either he is refusing, or unable to play. You say he is the best thing we have next to Ware. Then he must be refusing to play. If he is unable, do you think we should hold a roster spot open?

Your imbecility is annoying. You resort to name calling and red herrings when you get bested. You don't want to debate, you just want to be right.
I wanted to discuss an issue, not get in a pissing match with a narcissistic moron that can't put a coherent thought together.

There, now I have digressed into name calling, like you. Go play with yourself.

Have you ever had a torn achillies? His foot does not feel normal and probably never will again. He had bursitis in it earlier in training camp because he is 34 years old coming off an injury which usually takes a full year to heal from.

He has said time and time again he wants to play ..... he has said time and time again he is not holding out ..... the Cowboys have said he is doing everything they have asked him to do.

Stop making crap up to try and make your point ..... You sound like Eduncan

Just because he "wants" to play doesn't mean he can.......or will.

You said he was holding out and refusing to play till he got a raise.

then you followed me to another thread so who is being the immature idiot boy?

Keep on trying to prove your pathetic point.

Never said that ..... but cutting him when we have no one else in case Spencer struggles is silly.

zrinkill, you have been added to my ignore list, so don't bother even responding to me.

True - but that wasn't my point.

Cripe, even Vinnie T "came back from it". And he was older than Greg was.

Recovery is problematical of course, and the player I sense Greg's prognosis will imitate is vet NFL LB Sam Cowart's, and in that case, it was servicable play but just not the same player.

But after the rehab Greg's been thru, time and investment in it, and which hasn't been proven out one way or another, it'd be unfair on Ellis' end and unwise on the FO's to cut his recovery timeline short.

Greg's stalwart play against the run is what makes me want to see him as fully recovered as possible - and in Dallas. Until I see the configuration as it stands today successfully run stuffing, I like knowing Greg's around and recouping.

I didn't quote your post - I quoted a word in your post.

Sigh, logic fails you today my friend.

Oh, it's logic, now, my videogameophile.

Let us examine the logic of keeping Ellis:

Ellis is old
He's injured
He is not even sure he can compete and is seeking second opinions on his achilles heel
He, though picked in the first round, has always been average to a little above average (yipee!)
He makes a fair coin
He wanted a raise but now is not sure about his health
He has a superstar waiting in the wings
Ellis is a whiner. A constant whiner

Yes, I can see your logic dargon.
Logical, yet, fantastical. Logical yet without any real upside to old man Ellis.

Sigh

Jumping Jimma-ny!

Seems to me that your man crush Ellis started having second thoughts about his ability to play when Jerra told him to shut up and live up to his contract.

Now, Mr. Zrin, I cannot prove this, but neither can you prove that he isn't refusing to play.

So, we are left with some simple truths: Ellis is old, injured, whiney and has doubts he can play
But, yes, by all means, let's hang on to this prima dona who has always been an average to slightly above average player at best.
And you want to keep him, huh. For what? To see him go into the ring of honor when he retires?
:bang2:

O, brother.

O, brother.

And Mr. Drive buy shows up.

My proof is that the Cowboys have said he is doing everything they have asked of him .....

I like Ellis but he is far from my favorite player ..... as a matter of fact I wanted to trade him when he started crying earlier this year.

But to just cut him after we have already spent this much time allowing him to recover is stupid.

If you don't like it ... please put me on ignore like your girlfriend

;)

Did the Cowboys ax him to be whiny? Did they ax him to demand a new contract? (While he was rehabbing)

And don't be jealous, you know that no one can take the place of you. You've been my girlfriend for longer than I can remember.

Well thats good to know ...... :laugh2:

In all seriousness ...... Ellis will be great for protecting Spencer .... if he can ever get on the field ....

I never pictured his role this year as anything but a situational pass rusher.

Ware/Carpenter/Spencer are the future

I can live with that.

But that sure is not much of an endorsement for Ellis.:)

My initial post was not much of an endorsment ..... just don't want to cut a cheap alternative to Spencer running into rookie trouble.

dickfort tried turning it into something else ..... then got made and ran away.
