Who has a better backfield than the Cowboys?

Wow Hos... I have to wholly disagree.
I like our backfield potential more than just about all of those combos aside from Green/Davenport.

So do I, but that wasn't what he asked.

Allbeit it's not the best in the league, but i'd watch out for the Portis/Betts combo this year. I like both those dudes. We have some holes and ? marks but i like our backfield.

hey on your sig are u sure about that i still remember crayton burning himfor the TD that won that game, and second Portis is overhyped and you dont have a good OL to do alot of damage

I would love to see this guy Vick you are talking about and his "great" arm. He must really be something. There is a guy with the exact same name QBing the Falcons right now. He is a great runner but only a so-so QB because he can't throw worth a darn. Oh he has a huge contract and makes the cover on all the football mags out there. But he won't ever win a super bowl because his play limits the overall ability of the passing game. Defenses that clamp down on his running beat him easily. When the Falcons fall behind, there is little threat of them ever coming back because they can't throw the ball. Ask Peerless Price about him. He will tell you he should have stayed in Buffalo and caught balls from.....Drew Bledsoe.

I agree - we all know he misses Moulds taking the pressure off him.

I'm sorry but I can't agree with a lot of those.

#1 Larry Johnson isn't nearly as accomplished as A-train.
#2 Ronnie Brown hasn't taken a single snap in the nfl, and Ricky has been out of the game for a year, and his final season wasn't nearly as impressive as his previous ones.
#3 Marshall Faulk is aging, and Stephen Jackson hasn't proven much yet.

I disagree with almost all of them, but im tired already.

Julius Jones ranked 28th overall playing less than half of a season... and coming off of an injury in his rookie year...

Ranked 5th in yards per games

nope, because then he has to wait for the ball and then he doesnt have the threat of being able to throw

Vick is a great runner becausein the backfield he still can throw the ball, so he only has to out run DL, and maybe a LB, then once he gets into the open field he has that abilty to juke out CB, but a straight runner, players can collaspe on him faster because thats all he can do is run.

BTW this year Vick will open up his passing game, and show everybody he's more than runner(I.E Mcnabb), which is why i'm picking him in all my fantasy leagues(yes even over peyton Manning)

That would make Vick a top 5 pick since Manning is easily top 5, and that would be silly. Vick could probably be had after the 3rd.

Absolutely mind boggling to me that anyone would take Vick before Manning. He is rated about #5 or #6 in most predraft QB rankings.

I'm a Vick fan, and like him a lot. And I have never played FF. But if I did, I would still take Manning over Vick. While I expect Vick to improve his passing quite a bit, Manning is already a HOF QB. He is a passing touchdown machine, which, if I remember correctly, is the best way for QBs to earn points.

San Diego is the only team that I would say is better than ours (for now) Ladanian Tomlinson and Darren Sproles.

and probably in Cowboys history as a collection of backs

I am going to have go with TD and Herschel as the greatest collection in Cowboy's history. Not even close.

As for today, JJ/Atrain/Barberlll could turn out to be a devasting combination. And BP will exploit that for all its worth. Make the opposing defenses chase JJ for 20-25 plays then pound them Thomas 10-12 times. It could be a very beautiful thing.

No i'm taking him OVER Manning, if i had the choice i woudl choose another high profile player knowing i'm getting Vick later on, there is a differnece, and ratings mean nothing, thats why the players play the game

Still why waste a number 1 pick, when you get a player at a differnt postion who can give you those same numbers, and pick up vick later on and get maybe not the greatest number but great numbers, Rushing TD count the same as PAssing TD, only the Rushing yardsgive you more points, so i think that benfits Vick some

As good as our runners appear on paper, they still have some questions to answer before becoming a top-tier unit.

Can Julius stay healthy and produce at that same level over a 16-game season? As good as Marion Barber seems, how many fourth rounders have we had work out the last few years? He still has to show he can play at this level. And Anthony Thomas just has to prove he can make the team and isn't this year's version of Eddie George (after all, Thomas averaged under 4.0 yards per carry last year).

Hey, there's a ton of upside with this group. But to be the best, you've got to have already proven it in my book. And since two of our three runners weren't even here last year, they've hardly proven they can play effectively together.

Just trying to point out that we like our potential but other teams have just as much and in some cases maybe more potnetial. Doesn't matter to me, I like where we are at RB.

BTW, I really like Tyson Thompson at RB but moreso at KR.
Me too.
He is our fastest back.
Sprint Champ type guy.

I only agreed wiht about half your list but yea, got the point, if the offseaosn everyone gets overexcited about their teams because they are front of mind and opponents back of mind.

Ricky Williams and Ronnie Brown? Wow, that could be a serious backfield rotation.

Philly adding Moats flat makes me sick. Moats is a Westbrook type guy and having two of them share the load is just nauseating.

One reason not to choose vick is he gets sacked a lot. If you play in a league where you loose points for sacks then you will loose alot of points with him.

Vick does get sacked alot. An awefull lot. Thus proving what myself and several others have known for years. When it comes to taking sacks mobility is VERY overated. Its not so much mobility when it comes to taking sacks but KNOWING when to get rid of the ball, finding the HOT reciever, being able to proccess all this info and get rid of the ball in under 2 secs, all while under duress. Its alot more to do with the head then the feet. Some of the least sacked dudes in the NFL are guys like Brad Johnson with virtually no mobility. I looked it up myself on a stat site and was somewhat shocked to say the least.

Actually, I like the way JJ has stepped up his game. Now that could be attributed 100% towadr JJ or somewhere around 50% JJ and 50% OL stepping Up their game. This year will answer a Lot of those questions about both.

I forgot the added Sproles. Add SD to my list. :)
