I'd rather have Longwell. Vanderjadt has trouble with kickoffs.

I think you actually make a valid point there. No need in signing a player that can't kickoff to millions of dollars.

I voted yes, but only because he's better than what we have. I'm always afraid of dome kickers. Give me Vinatieri first, Vanderjagt second.

amen, our kickers were awful this year, we need someone that can put it through the uprights. I would take Vanderjagt hands down.
My list of kickers would be in this order
1) Nedney- 26-28 FG's, 6 TB's
http://www.nfl.com/players/playerpage/1389
2) Vanderjagt- 23-25 FG's, 0 TB's
http://www.nfl.com/players/playerpage/12783
3) Vinateri- 20-25 FG's, 10 TB's
http://www.nfl.com/players/playerpage/1392
4) Longwell- 20-27 FG's, 3 TB's
http://www.nfl.com/players/playerpage/1727

I dont think the pats will let Vinateri go, so Vanderjagt or Nedney should be out top 2 choices for kickers this offseason. NEDNEY kicked the lights out this year at 26-28, check out his stats. I would pick him up in a heartbeat as well. Bring in Nedney!!!!!!!!! He played crazy great this year.

The best FA kickers as of this past season are
1) Nedney- 26-28 FG's
2) Vanderjagt- 23-25 FG's
3) Vinateri- 20-25 FG's
4) Longwell- 20-27 FG's

I just cant wait for this season to be over, and the offseason to start so we can finally see what players we sign, etc!!!!!!!!!

I think it's a mistake to look at just the most recent year to evaluate a kicker. I'd be OK signing Nedney, but I like Longwell better. Why? Nedney is on his 6th team now, 7th if he comes here and his career FG % is 77% compared to Longwell's 82%. Longwell is also a year younger and he's spent his whole career kicking in GB which can't help his stats. I think Longwell is our man.

Yeah i guess. Longwell had an awful season with GB, which will most likely result in him not being re-signed. BP will probably want someone cheap, and Longwell might not want alot of money, so that would be a pretty good pick up. Also Nedney might not want alot either, so he could be a pretty good pick up as well. Vanderjagt will probably want lots of money, and I dont think BP is willing to spend millions on a kicker. Longwell or Nedney should come for cheap, so I would take either one of them.

Matt Bryant is a UFA this offseason, he kicked 21-25 FG's this year and I believe he spent his entire career with TB(correct me if im wrong). He would be a pretty good pickup as well

Sorry but to those who think Vanderjagt is a sucky kicker because he missed the kick against pittsburgh is short-sighted. The guy is a flat out awesome kicker and compared to what we've had the last 10 years he would be a welcome sight come Sunday afternoons when we need a 35 yarder.

You're damned skippy I'd take that liquored up kicker....He is human. And if Peyton had orchestrated the pass protections with his pre-snap gyrations (like he gets too much credit for) the game wouldn't have even come down to that kick.

Why is it that he gets all of the credit for the wins and places blame on others for their loss.Just asking. At least that liquored up kicker took responsibility for the missed kick. Now that's being a good teammate. Let Donovan, Drew or Vick make that same excuse and it would have been the lead story.

No, Bryant is only in his first year with the Bucs. He spent a year with Miami after spending 2 with the Giants. But I expect Tampa to resign him before he goes on the market because as you say he had a good season.

I know kickers can last a long time but Vanderjadt will be 36 in March. I'd take him but not at huge $. At his age and with his weak KO's he's not worth the 1.8m he made in 2005 IMO.

I like:

Vineteiri
Akers
Wilkens

In that order.

Now, are they available? Probably not but that's who I like.

I will be happy with any of the four mentioned above.

However, let's not forget the other issue to be addressed - DEEP SNAPPER!

How satisfied are you with LaDouceur?

That is not exactly Dale Hellestrae out there anymore.

Where do you rate Romo as a holder?

I doubt he will. Why would NE let him go?

nah he posted 3 kickers and 2 of them werent going to be UFA's this offseason, only Vinateri will be a UFA this offseason. I highly doubt NE lets him go, who do they have to back him up?

He will stay in NE, he has won the Pats 3 SB's:bang2: , He will be staying!!!!!!

...needs more work. Romo has done an excellent job of getting the bad snaps down. If anything he has been the one bright spot on the place kicking team.
