Keep in mind this isnt a preference or pet cat post. This who I feel the Cowboys will favor at 28. Im excluding any player they would like that I feel has practically no shot at being there

Takkarist McKinley: Edge rusher drooling with potential. Injury wont kill his stock, but it will probably put him in Dallas's range.

Adoree Jackson: Athletic freak and playmaking CB. They love world class athleticism, and I see them fawning over Jacksons potential

Jabril Peppers: Peppers I see being the highest of not one of the highest players on the board when they are up

Jordan Willis: I think he will grade very well for the Cowboys. I see them looking at a player they can turn into an elite RDE. I think Takk will be higher on there board, but he may be gone as well

Zay Jones: He is the type of WR the Cowboys like and is rising fast after the Senior Bowl and Combine. Hard to say where he grades out, but he seems to be in the first round range now. A real wild card for Dallas IMO.

It might not, but it should.

We can't afford to take on a player that won't be able to step in and play immediately with our first round pick.

If that means moving onto something else other than pass rusher, so be it.

Gun to my head: My money is on Takk at 28

My best chance at not being a dead man IMO

I say Peppers because Jerry likes the flash and splash players.
I think if both are there, it will be between Peppers and Takk. I think Takk would win out. However its hard to know who they are really going to fall in love with. OP is my guess, and thats all we can really do with so limited info at the moment

I think Reddick is a strong possibility. The whole "we expect a big contribution from Jaylon Smith with a brace" is front office spin. While durability isnt Sean Lee's middle name.

I think Takk is the only edge guy they would take at 28 unless Barnett slides. I see guys like Baker, Ross, one of the highly thought of CBs who gets caught in a numbers game or Njoku being available. All of those players are better than Harris and Lawson, who in my eyes aren't better players than Basham , Rivers or Hendrickson who you can get a full round later.

Who do you want?

Honestly, I have no clue as far as a narrowed down list. This year its pretty hard to tell who will/won't be available because of the lack of elite players at the top.

Garrett, S. Thomas, Barrnett, or Taco at DE...don't want any others at 28.

Sidney Jones or Lattimore at CB...warming up to Humphrey a little

Williams or Davis at WR

I would take Ramczky or Bolles

Hasson Reddick

OJ/Njoku

That's about it honestly...if none of those guys are available at 28 (it's entirely possible) I'm trying to trade back as hard as possible

I think between his combine performance and Reuben Foster's antics, Reddick may be out of our range now. Due to the reasons you mentioned above, I would be more than ok with us taking him if he's available. They may not be pass rushers or shut down CBs, but sometimes I think we (generally speaking, no one in particular) underestimate what an elite LB corps can do for a defense. After all, an elite LB (and the potential of 3) can provide help in both coverage and the rush, in addition to the run defense.

Im very interested in seeing what kind of interest they show Willis after the Senior Bowl/Combine. He is rising and is a specimen. Would be interesting the see where the FO slots him

Apparently scouts consider Foster's antics at the combine to be no big deal, and shouldn't effect his stock whatsoever

Also, Mike and Will are vital positions in Marinelli's preferred scheme

I had him in the 3rd before the combine. I can't see moving him all the way up the the 1st because he's a freak athlete, but you know some team probably will take him late 1st- early 2nd now.

Matt Miller said today scouts dont expect Foster to fall FWIW. Also read Steelers hope Reddick falls to them.

I was personally hoping for a draft something like this
28. Baker, S. Jones or Conley
60. Basham, Rivers or Hendrickson
92. Godwin, C. Henderson or Duke Riley
133. R. Douglas or Jake Butt

I'm not so sure any of those 3rd or 4th Rd guys make it to those picks now. I most definitely don't want Willis at 28 however it falls though.
