Who is a realistic HC next year?

This is what I like good discussion instead of people coming in here bashing people who dont agree with their thoughts and ideas.

As far as what you said about Garrett being apart of the culture thats a fair statement and makes sense but I think its a matter of garrett trapped in a culture that phillips has created and fostered on this team. If you're part of something that someone else is leading you cant step on that leaders toes cause you feel it should be done another way cause that can cause fractioning for the team. I feel if Garrett is given the opportunity he will run it his way and put his on stamp on the team cause from what I've seen from him he's all business so if he's the one running the team he'll instill that mentality throughout the team. People may not agree with what I said but I just good a good feeling about Garrett if he's the one running the show

But Garrett won't get that opportunity to run it his way. Garrett is young and unproven, and Jerry stomps on HC's like this, just like Jerry stomped on Wade (HC before but is weak)/Campo/Chan Gailey. Jerry will hire Garrett's staff and make the decisions for him. JC will be a glorified HC/Offensive Coordinator and you will see 2-3 more years of the same old thing. Besides,
I just don't think Garrett's current playcalling or offensive schemes warrants him getting an HC position. He's young and has a lot to learn.

If Wade goes, blow the whole coaching staff up and start from scratch. Jerry has to hire an HC that he respects enough to value his opinion and let him run thinks their way. That would be a Holmgren/Cowher/Shanahan type. Let them bring in their own staff, make some decisions, and let them change the culture. Jerry has respect for those guys. I don't think Jones will give Garrett enough rope to hang himself, let alone to make any decisions.

Granted but our OL doesn't fit that system at all..

Especially the highest paid OL_Flozell, Davis & Gurode. Kosier & Free, maybe even Columbo could play the zone blocking scheme though.

But Shanahan is cursed when it comes to D.

Haha agreed. I think if he comes to Dallas he'll have a great 3-4 DC that he trusts, and will rely on to make more of the defensive personnel decisions.

I'm getting sick of this Jerry is Al Davis 2.0 crap its getting old from our fans. I'm not gonna fault Jerry for wanting to do whatever it takes to win. People are quick to point out his faults and mistakes but are slow to recognize the great things he's done for this organization and team. Unfortunately he's always gonna be bigger than life when it comes with this organization and always be one of the faces of the team. People can make their arguments about how that aint right and how we should get a GM but thats not gonna happen so lets just get over that. Jerry respects Jason Garrett and the whole Garrett family from the time his father was on the staff. This notion that JG is gonna be a puppet I feel is ridiculous and I dont feel will be the fact. Also you bring up Garretts schemes like everyone else has been doing but answer this question for me?? How successful would JGs schemes and play calling be if the players werent mental idiots constantly being penalized making drives to first down be from 15 to 20yds. Sorry you just cant be successful if youre constantly beating yourself and making it harder to keep drives alive. Like ive said before JG does make some mistakes with his playcalling and what not but every coach does but its the job of the Millionaire football players whose lively hood is playing the game to execute the plays and make them successful.

Gracias....I can't imagine Cowher ever becoming Cowboys HC and Holmgren isn't the answer.

DeCamillis is intense, smart, knows the roster, and commands respect....to me he is the ideal candidate.

I do really like Harbaugh though.

I like the DeCamillis idea -- undoubtedly the kind of assistant worthy of promoting, it would seem.

Russ Grimm.

(I'd still take Holmgren, but it sounds like he doesn't want to coach anymore.)

24-24 in his last 3 years with Denver and only 1 playoff victory since the 98 Super Bowl win.

No thanks.Just another retread.

Craig

Yeah, Shanahan scares me for those very reasons. Do we really want to pair up a coach whose playoff-win drought rivals ours?

He might be able to bring some offensive pizzazz, but unless he's bringing a 35-year-old Elway with him, I dunno.

What Garrett has done to earn the job, I'll never know, but it will probably be him.

JG has earned 3million since his new contract........:D but, otherwise:huh:
