From the nerve center of Cowboy thought and analysis in Farmers Branch where a dollar goes a long way, the men wash their vehicles ever Saturday and our women are always wantin' to meet men.

Men, yes, another Parcells post.

It's my firm belief that most of his critics here could and would be patient with him. However . . .

. . . his hardheadedness, questionable coaching in the playoff, failure to rally his team in the last month of the season and his inability to lead a talent-laden team, make him lame and expendable. And there is the respect issue. An undiciplined team that is the Cowboys (penalties and miscues) does not speak well of the coach. And he seems to like to devalue his players. Few pats on the back, as if they are something that is wrong.

His supporters are right that we should have patience. That is only right, in most cases. But in this case, Parcells is not deserving, IMO, of a longer stay.

Parcells fails to get it: It is not that Parcells is a legend, it's that the Dallas Cowboys are the Rolls Royce of footballdom.

He should coach like he is in awe of the Dallas franchise, not the other way around. And I think Jerry now has a harder and more pragmatic view of his savior BP.

Whether you big lugs debate it or not (and you will), the discussions should be framed on this: Does Parcells deserve to wear the star as coach of the most glamorous team on the planet?

(And do I believe Parcells will be back? Yes. Unfortunately, yes. And if so and the dye has been cast, then shame on both BP and Jerra for milking this of all its drama.)

(Cue in the "Battle Hymn of the Republic" here) Parcells, remember where you work and who you work for and be proud of it. Toss us a bone. Be just as proud of coaching Dallas as you are to be a former Giant and Jet, forchistsakes.

His truth is marching on.

And they will.
I'm kinda choked up here right now. These line in the sand posts can sap one's energy. I will be fine as soon as I drink another Big Red.

until jerry steps down from GM tuna is bigger than the cowboys.

it could be disasterous when Tuna leaves if Jerry is calling any shots. even the biggest Tuna haters have that stomach-wrenching fear of Jerruh gone wild.

calling chan gailey, dave campo, trading two #1s...

ps - i didn't read much past the first sentance of your OP

For the record, Chan Gailey had more success in his first season as Cowboys coach than Parcells has had in 4 years...10-6 with a divisional title.

I was actually very impressed with our offense when Gailey was here.

Anyone that has trouble with Parcells...your real beef if with Jerry Jones.

Last time I saw, Jerry owned the team.

If Jerry did not want to wait, he would have fired Tuna by now.

So once again...any of you have trouble with Bill, why not point that anger where it deserves to be pointed...straight to the top of the food chain...Jerry Jones.

Gailey's time here was Valhalla compared to this frustrating cow piss garbage. He should have never been fired to begin with.

And if one listens carefully to what Jerry said last week, he sure seems to have a "stay the course" vibe going. If BILL wants to stay, Jerry seems more than happy to welcome him back. When the Jerry most of us know and "Love" has had enough, i don't remember him having trouble canning a HC.

Exactly.

He also said that if he wanted an answer tonight (this was last week he said this) he could get an answer.

But I guess it is just so much easier to have a drama fest and then blame the drama fest on Bill.

I think Dr. Phil is from Texas...maybe we can contact him to help people here with their anger.

LOL. Really, Bill taking his time bugs me a little, but in reality it makes no difference. Look at the coaches that have been hired. We wanted NONE of them. Our D coordinator and QB coach aren't a problem replacing. If Bill leaves this entire staff will be in transition in all likelyhood and may not be fully formed for a couple years. No point in getting bent about it.

Well I feel the same.

Sure I would like to know one way or the other.

However one thing I do know...I am not going to get all bent out of shape with my knickers in a twist about it.

Nor am I going to pull a Veruca Salt screaming NOW NOW NOW and than blame it on on Bill...when the finger should be pointed at Jerry if one must point a finger.

The real issue for me is a potential power shift if Bill leaves. Bill has seemed to rest most of the controll over decisions from Jerry. If a Wade Phillips type is hired, i worry about Jerry asserting his power more than he should for the teams sake. I hope we get another HC Jerry will allow to do his thing. One he respcts and trusts enough, and if that guy is a Lovie Smith type in 2008, so be it as long as Jerry continues to stay out of the personell department.

I would agree again.

I do NOT want another puppet coach ala Campo.

However even though Bill has had more control than anyone else since Jimmy.

Make no mistake about it, Jerry still has control when he wants it and it is my firm belief that he has exercised that control even with bill on a few occasions.

It was made VERY clear from day one that Jerry had the final say. I have heard Jerry say it and Bill say it multiple times.

But I would rather have a exp HC that will get that respect from Jerry and Jerry not being so hands on...compared to what many people want in a young first time HC that Jerry will not trust as much and therefore revert back to running and controlling more.

I don't see how we can totally blame Jerry Jones.

When he was too involved and interferred everybody cursed him, ... and now that he has backed off, and is letting Parcells "buy the groceries and cook the meal", some are still cursing him. Seems he can't win.

Parcells is the one that needs to be held accountable.

There is a difference between a 5-11 team, and a 9-7, lose 1st rnd playoff game team. But in the big picture, not that much.

It seems our talent level is higher, but we either won the Super Bowl or we didn't. 9-7 feels better but we still aren't good enough.

I hope part of the reason that Parcells is taking so long is because he is taking a long hard look at himself.

Is he still good enough to coach the Dallas Cowboys ?

Can he get the most out of the talent we have ?

Who can Jones go out and hire and be absolutely sure he improved the situation. I think if he knew, he would have already done so. Truth is, he can't be sure.

Parcells needs to realize the opportunity he has here, the responibility he has here, ... to the present players, the organization, past players, Jones, the fans, .. to the Dallas Cowboys family, .. you and me.

If he isn't sure he can get it done, he needs to get out of the way. It's that simple.

get real. using your "not that much" numbers spread out over the campo lifespan....

5-11
5-11
5-11
-----
15-33
(0 playoff births)

vs
9-7
9-7
9-7
----
27-21
(1-3 playoff births?)

the only argument you can make is that 27-21 is insufficient, especially if we didn't win a title (next year we could be 9-7 and win a title) but of course you guys will complain like it's your birthright to take home a Lombardi each season so i take the 9-7 whining complaints with a grain of salt.

could you guys imagine wade phillips in here this season. Jerruh would be on the phone 24/7, especially with the $$$ paid

* start playing Roy up close... i just paid him $10m signing bonus
* start playing James up close... i just locked him up to big $$$
* why don't have have a pep-rally for Vanderjack... i just paid him a fortune
* at halftime... give Bledsoe some smelling salts... we only Tony Roma (prounounced wrong by jerruh) or whatever his name is
etc.
