It's kinda odd that a guy as successful as MIles has been at LSU would even be replaced. His teams are winners. Just not THE winner and I guess that's the catch.

ACC will be interesting going forward. What will happen to VT without Beamer? Will be an interesting to see where that program goes.

Miami has an opening as well. Will be interesting to see who they can get.

Still don't know how UNC is getting away with all of their cheating and relatively little punishment. Will Fedora stay or go to a real football school?

Fisher and Swinney are the big dogs in that conference and have to get past each other for a conference championship every year. Don't know the motivation to go to the SEC.

Yeah, Fisher and Sweeny have great setups.

They're in the ACC but have high-end SEC type programs and are paid like high-end SEC coaches.

UNC can win big, but there does seem to be a cap on just how big.
Really, if LSU could see past old ties, Fedora might actually be an option.

I think LSU would consider Briles as well. Not sure if he'd be interested, but the LSU [people seem to strongly want someone with a rep at developing QBs.

I think Chip Kelly ends up at USC.

Makes sense but I would think Chip would want to go to Texas due to the conference and network or if he stays in the NFL, Tennessee.

I have this odd feeling that Spurrier is going to USC.

At age 70, I think it's a lock that Spurrier is going to enjoy retirement and the additional time on Saturday to play golf

I think it would be more likely to see Texas make a run at Les Miles before Chip Kelly but I don't know.

That'd be dumb...Charlie just got to Texas and is a good coach

Dumb or not, there is a lot of talk about replacing Strong. If Les Miles were available, you might see that move be made. Strong is not Perrin's hire. He is Patterson's. I am not in favor or firing Strong but that doesn't mean diddly crap. It could easily happen and if Miles had interest, I'd guess that it would be that much easier.

If he becomes available...I'd entertain strong to replace JG in an eye blink

Imagine Los going to Texas when Texas can't find a QB and part of the problem with LSU... Is at QB

I agree with this but part of the reason, I think, is because he's always had such a great running game at LSU. QBs don't want to come to a school where you run the ball more then you throw it a lot of times. If they were smart, they would but that's not always how it works.

As a Bama fan LSU is one of those teams I always worried about losing to.

And no I don't know the record between the 2 teams but LSU just always seems sneaky dangerous to me.

I wouldn't be so fast pulling the trigger on Les.

LSU coach Les Miles didn't come out and say it but let the Tiger Gridiron Club know Friday that Saturday's game against Texas A&M will be his last, two sources who attended the group's luncheon said.

"He didn't use those words but he made it clear that Saturday is his last game," one Gridiron club member said. Miles regularly speaks to the club at lunch on Fridays before all home games.

"He said, 'We're a second family to him and he's going to miss us, he appreciates his real friends, and then he told us good-bye,'" the source said. "It was very emotional but in control."

Miles reportedly left to a standing ovation.

Another source said Miles told the group he "wouldn't be seeing them at the bowl game," he would "always be a Tiger" and "thanks for a great 11 years."

Miles did not stay to answer questions, one source said.

UT- IF they fire Strong it will be because they have lined up Miles or Kelly in advance. And I think UT will flat moneywhip someone in insane fashion. Gone is the CEO mindset.
I suspect the old school big money donors love Miles for his ties to the Cowboys and NFL as well as SEC... while the "problems of UT" would be addressed most specifically by Chip with his offense.
He will have a stable of great backs and and the type of athletic QBs he covets for his power run spread systems. He just has to teach them to throw. Something shockingly missing at UT is a good QB coach.

What is clear is Chip and Miles will both get RAISES which is why neither will fight hard to keep their current jobs IMHO.

A possible side benefit with Miles is he has been actively recruiting the top players in the country already.

Les' ability to coach defense and get great DB play to buoy excellent trenches could win in the Big 12... if he can get passable QB play.
Chip will get excellent QB play. That's the trade-off.

As a Texas Tech fan I hope they keep Strong/Norvell tbh. I don't think Tech can compete with either Kelly or Miles in Austin :(

They already pulled it.
Trigger happy? yes they were, imo.

15 million buyout after already making so much over the years....talk about being financially set.
Miles can certainly take his time choosing his next location.

Cool. Didn't know you were a Red Raider fan. My younger brother graduated from Tech with an MIS degree. Guns up!
