I agree. Spence is more Demarcus Ware than Von Miller.

A guy with potential to play SAM on running downs and rush passer on passing downs is Dadi Nicolas. Zatavius Brown is another similar player. But neither are as fast or as strong or as good in coverage as Miller.

Spence but are the Cowboys willing to spend such a high pick on a dude that has/had drug problems and integrity issues. I'm not saying Spence cannot recover from these issues or that he shouldn't be given a second chance. What I am saying is that given his past problems, the Cowboys really need to think if he is worth the risk. Spence would easily be the pick if it were not for his issues.

Von Miller rushes the passer, disrupts the run game, and excels in coverage. All at a high level.

And it just so happens there is another special talent like him coming out this year... his name is Myles Jack.

There is not special pass rushing OLB in the draft this year that compares to Von Miller.

If you want a pure pass rusher...Probably Spence but he comes with baggage.

If you want defensive impact type player...Jacks

Dallas has a couple of young guys already in Lawrence and Gregory who I think will develop into excellent pass rushers. I would hate to see the Cowboys keep drafting the same position over and over. If I had to address a spot on the DL it would be DT and some one who could provide a big inside push and bring pressure up the middle much like Derek Wolfe brings to the defense in Denver

even Kuechly not not drafted in the top 5 and he was a great all round LB in college which i dont see in Jack.I am fine with him in a trade down situation but not at 4.

Didn't Kuechly go like 8th? So it's not like he was drafted 35th. And Jack absolutely is an all around LB.

There is no Miller in this draft but the guy closest to Miller was the guy who tore his ACL and MCL in the Fiesta Bowl.

Just for kicks and giggles comparison-wise in terms of college production:

Myles Jack - 3 seasons, 117 tackles, 61 assists, 16 tackles for loss, 1 sack, 4 interceptions, 19 passes defensed, 2 fumble recoveries, 1 forced fumble.
Luke Kuechly - 3 seasons, 299 tackles, 233 assists, 35 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, 7 interceptions, 17 passes defensed, 0 fumble recoveries, 2 forced fumbles.
Von Miller - 4 seasons, 104 tackles, 77 assists, 50 tackles for loss, 33 sacks, 1 interception, 7 passes defensed, 1 fumble recovery, 10 forced fumbles.

How does Jack only have one sack in 3 years? I mean there are CBs with more sacks than that over a 3 year period. LOL.

Because he is basically a chase linebacker.

It is rather odd though.

Compare him to Sean Lee:

147 tackles, 166 assists, 29.5 tackles for loss, 11 sacks, 3 interceptions, 20 passes defensed, 4 fumble recoveries, 4 forced fumbles.

I am willing to be sold on how great Jack is, but I am just not seeing it unless his athleticism is such a tie breaker that it makes projecting him to be great makes a difference. The production he had in school just does not lay it out. Could be the UCLA scheme, could be the double duty he had at RB. I am still waiting for someone to provide a convincing case he is a can't-miss playmaking force.
