I guess it is montaveous stanley (and some current DEs). During the press conference, it sounded like they hope to sign a free agent or two.

It sounds like the Cowboys aren't all that concerned about NT. They seem to start singing "don't worry, be happy" when the topic comes up. It's odd.

The only backup NT we got is Ratliff and he's not a legit backup/NT. We drafted Stanley in 06 as a backup NT but cut him. Resigned him several months later after Browns cut him. He was inactive while with us and it doubtful he has the talent to do this job. I've also never heard of Ayodele playing DT and his size precludes it. In other words if Ferguson goes down, we are screwed. Some analysts believe he wore down a little later in the season which caused linebackers to also wear down. Getting a quality backup NT is a big need but Cowboys don't seem to think so/do anything about it. Go figure.

Stanley is supposed to be talented enough. He just doesn't put forthe the effort allegedly. Ayodele's brother is on the team I believe. They obviously aren't as concerned about it as you are.

Remi is listed as a DT at 6'2 300lbs. I know he is in NFL Europe right now. I don't know if he has bulked up however, the Cowboys were very high on him at least last yr. Hopefully Stanley will show promise and growth this yr.

Ratliff. Cowboys had the best interior defense in the NFL against the run last year, so obviously it wasn't that big of a problem.

Funny how far Montavous Stanley fell in the eyes of the posters. Last year at this time everyone was frothing at the mouth over him. So a 6th round draft pick didn't come in as a rookie and tear it up. Now people can't get rid of him fast enough.
