Really? That dream has sailed. He's now on the #1 CBS announcing team. He isn't going to quit midseason and join the Cowboys. Hasn't played meaningful football in 2 years. Probably be longer than that before we would need him. He obviously doesn't need practice because he's Tony Romo. He can just leave the booth and join the Cowboys without ever missing a beat. 2 playoff wins when he was healthy and he's going to take us to the SB coming out of the booth. If he plays again it will be after this season and it will probably be for another team after he has workouts and a training camp. I doubt that happens either. Tony is done. He knows it. I wish fans would too.
Just like Bret Favre didn't need practice, neither does Tony Romo. If it means giving Romo a chance to take "America's Team" to the SB and win, CBS will be glad to allow that to happen and get the exclusive on that story. It's only you that wants to dash those dreams. YOU VILLAIN!!

No because they wouldn't get the call. Stephen is calling Romo.
Tony will never play another game in Dallas. Too fragile. Too old and too expensive. Tony doesn't need the Cowboys and they certainly don't need him.

Bret Favre didn't have the injuries Tony has. The guy retired so many times nobody believed it. He never sat out 2 seasons and decided to come back. And CBS doesn't want to lose him to the Cowboys. They just benched Phil Simms. Why would they care what happens to the Cowboys? the Cowboys are only on CBS a couple games a year.

Stephen said he'd make the call and Tony has never said the word "retirement".

Cause I know Kellen Moore isn't? I keep hearing rumors about Kaepernick being looked at but think its just talk. I think they bring in a vet..but who?
I prefer Moore for this season unless some young guy shows up out of nowhere.

Veteran journeyman backups usually suck when they have to play.

Linehan is the person that most wanted to draft Dak.

Linehan seems to love Kellen Moore.

I would give Linehan the benefit of the doubt.

I think Tony said something like he's 99% done or something like that. He didn't close the door entirely. I think a lot has to do with how he does as a broadcaster next year. If he's a flop then yea I think he'd try to come back. I still think it would be a mistake. But if he's good at it, why would he want to? Unless he wins a SB it won't end good for him.

99% is not 100% and it would only happen if something happened to Dak which is not likely. I think Romo and Jerry have already talked about this so I don't think it depends on anything but Romo getting the phone call.

Tony Romo is the real back up. Heck even the front office already said they would talk to CBS about it and that they would love the attention it would generate. If the season is not lost and Dak goes down I can see Tony coming in. Great for the cowboys and great for CBS.
