Who is the best WR complement to CeeDee?

I think we’ve seen enough of Tolbert to know what he is…I’m ready to move on.
I agree, has been given every opportunity to seize the job and hasn't done it. If they want to keep him as a 3/4 type, fine, but we really need a true #2 to replace Cooks.

I think at least a couple of those guys would hopefully be upgrades. And would make a nice addition to the WR room that would help complement CD and the passing attack.
They need another Lamb type in the starting lineup. As Cnuball already said, just look at the contenders in the conference, they each have have 2 #1 receivers

Sure, he probably plays better with Dak.

But how do you feel about him compared to Smitty, Addison, Deebo, Jameo etc as a #2? Those are our top NFC competitor #2s.
Those teams have running games to pair with the passing attack. A running game is more important than a WR2 in Dallas. A better WR2 is a luxury pick the Cowboys can't afford. Better to bet on Tolbert as the WR2 than Dak throwing 40 times a game to a rookie getting 4 to 5 targets a game.

An anemic passing game will hurt a running game. Last year, the entire offense was a train wreck, they need to upgrade the talent both in the run and the passing games. WR is not a luxury, it's a priority as is RB.

We need both…great teams are multiple.

WRs make almost twice as much RBs so the value by position isn’t really close.

I am zeroing in on the 1st rd receivers in Burden, Egbuka, Golden, assuming T-Mac is long gone. Who complements Lamb the best?

-Burden-a poor man's Lamb but not as explosive. Excellent yac receiver, but is very raw route runner. He is a type of receiver you find ways to get him the football. I have heard comparisons to Brandon Ayuik. #1 receiver upside

-Egbuka-unlike Burden, excellent route runner, highly experienced, but lacks high end explosiveness. Many see him similar to St. Brown from the Lions. Move the sticks type of receiver. Has been playing that Robin role throughout his college career. More of a steady #2 type that has a high floor.

-Golden-similar to Egbuka as a route runner, but is more explosive down the field. However, his slight frame causes struggles against press coverage. A bigger, less talented version of DeVonta Smith. Can he play on the outside?
McMillan is the dream scenerio, but unless there's a video of him in a gas mask, he will be gone in the top 5.
I'd be happy with Burden, Golden, or Egbuka, but I'd hope for a trade down to get one of them with an extra 3rd.

To me it isn't about who complements CeeDee per se', it's about who is the best player. Who cares if it is a speedster or a slot guy or a hands guy, it's about whomever is the best player. You start eliminating guys for reason like that and you minimize your chances to get the best player. Lord knows we've gone through the "quick twitch" phase and came out bloodied on the other side...

The reason why McCarthy didn't use Turpin until his 3rd year had nothing to do with his size.
Turpin has no speed, no explosive route running, and often can't get away from safeties or lbs....lol. He was supposed to be a big YAC guy, but we haven't seen anything like that. His only real contribution has been when Mike schemed him open in the redzone for TDs. He's not half the receiver Gallup was. I'm so ready for true 1b or 2a who can get open consistently.

This is could very well be in their plans unless a blue chipper falls

I think TMac is the most realistic option to slide to 12…he’ll probably run low 4.5s which doesn’t really matter bc of his play style. Fingers crossed.

If we cannot get Tmac...I would want Ebuka over the others if we trade down.
That is just if we are talking WRs. Personally I would like a stud DT or DE.
