Who is the better quarterback: Eli Manning or Tony Romo?

Romo is not going to change that and Eli did not cause NY to step up as a team.

I disagree. His whole team knew they could count on Eli just like they did in the past. They knew he would not be a weak link or choke artist.

Would Romo have played as well as Eli did in the NFC championship? IMO....no freaking way. The 49'ers KILLED Eli and he just kept getting back up and coming forward. You don't think that motivates a team? Coughlin is a good coach and he played a big role too.... but please don't act like Eli didn't motivate his team with his persevering play every single game of the playoffs and the superbowl.

You can't assume Romo would have won those Super Bowls with NY. Do you really think Romo could have made that sideline pass Eli made to Manningham on the game winning drive against the Pats? Do you think Romo could have made that pass in back of the endzone to Plax 4 years ago? Do you think Romo could have took hit after hit and got back up like Eli did in the NFC title game? Don't get it twisted, I love Romo but Eli is the better QB.

The funny thing is that makes it all the more incredible is that it was week #2. It would have been real easy to bow out of that game knowing the whole season is in front of you.

If I recall correctly, the 49ers also dropped a couple of interceptions against Eli. I believe the Pack did as well. Eli has played well in the playoffs, but he's gotten lucky quite a bit too.

That is your opinion. I don't doubt many QB you think are elite I would disagree with. I think Eli is a very good QB if you go through the thread I have said as much. How would Romo play the 9ers? I don't know Dallas beat them. Notice did not say Romo beat them the Cowboys beat them why because Teams win not 1 player.

NY defense had as much to do with their success than Eli. You base your views on SB that is you I think SB are team accomplishment and it takes an entire team to win not 1. If this was about how the best QB was would get the SB than GB should have won it and Peyton Manning should have about 5 or 6 but it does nto work that way.

Frankly the difference in the NY/SF game was a fumbled punt return deep in 9ers territory that ended up costing SF that game. I'm not going to call Eli lucky or the Giants lucky, when breaks went their way the capitalized on it and that is what good teams do, they take advantage of the other team’s mistakes and bad teams don't

Romo is better. Eli has the luxury of never having to play flawlessly. Romo can have a perfect game and the team can still lose.

Eli is an enigma to me. He can play lights out, mediocre for a stretch and bad for some games too (all usually in the same season). He does get lucky often, probably the luckiest of the QB's today.

But, he is a good, solid QB capable of carrying his team if need be. The cowboys rely on Romo a lot more than the Giants rely on Eli IMO.

As of now, Eli (to me) has a slight edge in the QB position, but does not have near the talent level of Tony.

If I owned/coached a team and was looking to have one of them as my QB, I would pick Romo without a doubt, I think his ceiling can be higher in the end.

I said it was ONE of the biggest things QB's are graded on, not the only thing. We all know you can get the Doug Williams/Brad Johnson/Trent Dilfer QB that has won a Super Bowl...

I said it was ONE of the biggest things QB's are graded on, not the only thing. We all know you can get the Doug Williams/Brad Johnson/Trent Dilfer QB that has won a Super Bowl...

I'm just pointing out that even with top QB it take others stepping up making the big play to win. I know many who use that measurement yet do not use that measurement on any other player. As important as QB can be, it just take so much more than 1 man.

If we look at last season who was the best QB? hands down Rodgers was on fire all season long but that was not good enough but it is clear Rodgers is a very good QB and it did not take a ring for him to prove it.

As for Romo I know he is a very good QB one of the better QB’s in the league ring or no ring, for some the only way they will be able to see how good he is will be by something the team accomplished

Yeah one ring would guarantee Romo getting in. He has to, even skin's fans would have to question whats going on if he didn't.
