Not a problem. There are remakes or continuations of series and movies I have avoided also.

@YosemiteSam may remember me mentioning this story before. I recall the first time I saw the first episode of
Star Trek: The Next Generation called
Encounter At Farpoint FILLED with expectations. There I sat, critiquing EVERYTHING. Then
it happened. The primary and secondary saucer sections separated. At warp.
I nerded out. "Why would a starship that large disengage primary and secondary hulls, especially within its own warp bubble?" I turned off my television and swore never to watch this new <expletive> ever again. That is, until the day I accidentally turned on the show and saw the
Contagion episode, was immediately hooked, and gave the show a second chance.

Placing my hypocritical tendencies aside for a moment, I do try not judging individual characters and actor/actress portrayals until giving them a chance to be presented properly. It does not mean I do not eventually consider some characters as average, terrible or worse but I do try judging with 'enough' accumulated evidence first.
