They have a halfback pass in NCAA that works, but not for the big yardage that it should. Basically because the RB has little to none throwing ability he cannot throw it down the field very far.

Also...reverses rarely work too...I wish they did, those are fun.

Madden has both of those in the pc version but you have to change to a different coaches playbook. lol

I'm defiantly getting Madden but, I don't know if I should also get NCAA or 2K's game.

the 2k sports title is all pro football so its not real players etc. mind you i will be buying it madden. Madden wasnt good on ps3 either. sad.
I think the new 2k game is going to have real players... not current players, but real players. "All-Pro Football" is supposed to have generic teams, logos and stadiums, but it has legends of the game. I saw screenshots of Elway, Unitas, Rice, Bryce Paup :)confused: I know), and others. Sounds intriguing, being able to make your team up of some NFL greats. But yeah, no current players or real teams.

They do the same thing every year.

I have my doubts about the credibility of IGN.

Interesting you said that. I was wondering the same thing so I decided to look up their review of 07 on the 360 and its a complete joke they gave the game an 8.5 (great).

The funniest thing is, in many of the previews for this years Madden, IGN acts like they were disappointed in previous versions for the 360 when the scores clearly indicate they were not. A little EA payoff, perhaps?

Maybe because of the fact that it is still the only NFL game on the next gen consoles?

I for one love playing franchise on the older maddens for xbox and ps2 but these lackluster releases are starting to, well, (4 letter word) me off...ncaa is entertaining but I get too good at it (I dont know why :laugh2: ) but I like NFL football more than college so that is just me..

I'm actually waiting for a Wii football game that's physically interactive such as their tennis and baseball games are. I'd love to be able to have to go through the throwing motions and scrambling motions of throwing a football in a video game.

Madden 07 for the Wii has all that.

Madden 08 for the Wii is supposed to add online play which is why I'm so excited for it.

I will stick with 2k5 until Madden changes to sideline view. My depth perception isn't good enough for the classic Madden. Its hard to tell wether the yardage is 10 yds or 50 yds. gain from angle 10 yds behind the offensive line. I feel like a zebra with virtual reality goggles on.

It's not so much that they are putting it in, but that it could actually work on a game console. That impresses me...go ahead, shake your head.

I just played the demo for NCAA, it is Michigan v USC, I chose Michigan and diddnt notice a single trick play in the playbook, but did notice the largely predictable 30+ option plays they have year after year, but never, ever use in real life. The gameplay is largely the same as previous NCAA's, not worth $60.

Those trick plays would be in the playbooks of teams that utilize them.

I agree...not much changes, but it is still by far my post anticipated game every year. I don't mind the cost, I just trade in the previous year version of college basketball and football to Gamestop.

.

Dont buy this at all. As I said, Michigan's play book is littered with useless option plays year after year, it doesnt make a difference if they dont use it in real life.

OK...try Boise St, Okla, Va Tech...teams like that who utilize those plays.

I never use them anyways. You can alter your playbook too, so you can take those dreaded option plays out.

I always enjoy the PC version because it's easier to download unofficial rosters and utilities and whatnot, plus I have a pretty new computer and a usb controller so it's not really any different than a console.

I always have to resist the urge to use a player editor to make the Cowboys players more similar to how I see their abilities, which undoubtedly means making them better.
