Who needs RW or Chad if Jerra already has T.O., Witten, Bennett and maybe Stanback??

I wonder if Jerra is thinking how well we did last year with T.O., Crayton and Witten?

And maybe he might take a gamble that Stanback blossoms soon and paying another WR is just a luxury?

Could it be that Jerra is gonna be kind to the cap and gamble on WR? Because Barber wants a lot of monies. And he needs to save his cash.

So, really, who needs another WR at this point?

I'm in agreement. I think JJ is leaning more toward developing from within the organization than buying another high priced player.

i don't think that's a bad thing. it's good to build from within.

Let's be realistic about Stanback. When was the last time a college QB turned into a marquee receiver? Then add on that Stanback barely played last year, so he's a year behind in development. All things considered, I thought he was a reasonable pick, and it's always nice to have a player who can be an emergency QB, but if Stanback makes the roster and gets more then ten catches this year, I'll be shocked.

If that is true, he better go watch the Giant playoff game again.

With all the hype coming out well in advance of training camp about Stanback, I will be beyond shocked if he gets cut or have as few as ten receptions this season. While I have absolutely nothing to go on, I'm predicting 20-30 catches for Stanback--with only injury possibly derailing that prediction. Hopefully, I didn't just jinx the guy.

I guess you do not remember the offense the last quarter of the season and the playoffs

Apparently wade Phillips agrees with you.

He doesn't see the need to add a Veteran reciever and was recently quoted as saying: " Certainly with the quarterback we have and the receivers we have and the same offense another year, we might even get better without adding some big-name guy,” Phillips said.

Phillips also said Sam Hurd, Miles Austin and Isaiah Stanback could all develop into “all-star caliber” wideouts.

I think he was unable to get the wow player, even though he wanted too.

They left several TD's on the field in that game and TO was playing on a bum ankle. I don't think that game is a very good game to reference to. I can remember several plays where TD's were left cause of several different reasons but for the most part the recievers were in position to make a play.. Also, our O was outstanding with the current crop of recievers.... They'll be fine and I think Stanback is gonna be a huge suprise. People underestimate what practice can do for you. The coaches have been singing his praises for awhile now...

Last time was probably Anquan Boldin. He played QB and reciever off and on in college. But to be honest, most college QBs that make the transition to WR, don't have the physical tools Stanback has. They may have the speed, but are small like Antwan Randle El. Or maybe they have the size, but lack the speed.

when Stanback becomes a productive player in this offense and special teams I want to see the faces of everybody doubting Him.

TO did not have a bum ankle against Philly in Texas staduim when we scored 6 points. The Giants and Philly play the same defense and I know they feel as if they have figured out the best way to defend us

The biggest reason i would like to get Roy or another top 10 wr is because he can take over for T.O. when he retires.

I suspect those people being pessimistic about Stanback are the same ones who thought the backup named Romo would never amount to a hill of beans.

I hope they are just as wrong this time.

That sounds fine and good until TO goes down. We've got 1 elite WR, an excellent TE, a good #3 & a bunch of wannabes. If we are content to go one and out in the playoffs then just stand still while rest of NFC East improves. As for the Eagles & Giants finally figuring out how to defend us, they had an easier time in late Dec/playoff game which is when we usually fold back as far as 98, Frankly, I doubt 3 months out of the season either team can defend us and they will find that out when the regular season starts. If they are relying on what they did last year to beat us, they are fools. You better believe Garrett has studied those game films extensively as has Romo. I also believe we specifically drafted Felix (over Mendenhall) & Bennett cause if special plans Garrett has for both types of players. Wouldn't be surprised to see Felix develop into another Brian Westbrook & Bennett into another version of Antonio Gates w/o his speed. But Felix along with Choice also brings big weapons to our running game which hopefully forces defenses to have to deal with both our passing & running game. My only concern is that Romo is such a great big play QB that he might always remain the top target of other teams. Just like teams must deal with Peyton Manning & Tom Brady.
