Who needs RW or Chad if Jerra already has T.O., Witten, Bennett and maybe Stanback??

The biggest reason i would like to get Roy or another top 10 wr is because he can take over for T.O. when he retires.

Rampage, I don't think there are enough footballs to share as it is among T.O., Witten, Bennett and possibly another WR plus our fab rookies coming out of the backfield.

T.O. is good for another two years and next year we kin get Chad, maybe. Cause even if Stanback develops, we'll still need a marquee WR like T.O. for beyiond 2008 when and if T.O. becomes a mere mortal.

I think we are done offensive wise this year, save maybe a surprise QB from somewhere. Upgrade the QB depth and you have a Super Bowl caliber team, man.

I like the idea of the two TE sets, but I'm just not buying into Dallas doing it much, probably because they were supposed to do it with Fasano and Witten and never really did.

Ah don't think the braintrust and Garrett drafted Bennett that early to have him sit around the first year.
I get the feeling that Garret likes the idea of a WR like T.O. and two monster TEs to frustrate the oppoing defense.

I think Bennett will get a lot of looks in the regular season.

I think the price is too high for a vet, so we are going to play with what we already have. If the price was right, Jerry would bring in RW in a heartbeat. Problem is Detroit is wanting the keys to fort knox, they reportedly wanted both 1st for RW before the draft if the rumors are to be believed.

*** that, Detroit can keep him this year and watch him walk out the door for nothing next year. Stupid arse Lions.

Love RW but here's hoping Jerra never pays near what the Lions want for him.
He's good but not that good

I say go with what we have right now.
Even with only T.O. and Witten, that is a potent attack.

Antwan Randel El??

Not saying Randel El is an all star, but to be honest I'd be thrilled if Stanbeck turned out to be a high quality punt returner/3rd WR like him. El's only problem is that he was miscast as a #2 guy in Washington.

Randel El has never been a great PR or WR. I really hope Stanback becomes a better player than him.

I agree about RW.

For the next couple of years, what would you rather have: TO + 2 first rounder or RW because I honestly doubt we can pay both $10M/yr which is the current market for #1 WRs. In two years, TO may be ready to retire and RW may be available after being franchised once.

I dont think Gimmuh would ever be graced by Jerry Jone's presence

pbthal, That was meant to hurt, wasn't it?

:write:
So, let me just say this: yeah, i'm just a little guy (cue in the "Battle Hymn of the Republic") but darn it, I just watch my Cowboys on that little screen at the convalenscent center all the time. Cause i am a true fan.
Not in your home theater eating them fancy cheese crackers in your bruno magli loafers.

Yes, i am not a wealthy man like you, pbthal, but I always try to have enough for a Cowboys cap and some Red Dawg beer on those magical Sundays. And a little Cowboys banner that little Ralph and Eddie made in crafts.
Yeah, it must be nice sitting there in your $5,000 nagahyde chaise longue, judging me.:nono2:

Sure, Jerra would never grace me with his company.
But I can dream, can't I?
What harm to you if a little guy who lives and breathes the Cowboys says, "I one day want to meet with jerra and maybe sample the buffett at his luxury box. Legions of little guys like me have dreams.

Sometimes uncaring yuppies like you who make .6 mil a year and have homes in North Dallas and helicopters to take you to fly-fishing sites dressed in J. Peterson rustic garb, you like to say hurtful thangs about us little guys (chorus of Battle Hymn of the Republic).

OK, yeah, we are easy targets.
As you scoot your SUV at the parking lot of Whole Foods and Organic Wines in Plano, you probably have disdain for us little guys.
But, gosh darn it, I say you are wrong to step on my dream.

You are everything a Cowboy fan is not.
Learn some manners before you go playing mr. judge roy bean and passing judgment on others.

Yea, though I walk in the light of the Dallas Cowboys, I dare not be too proud.

His truth is marching on .....

Hines Ward??

Ward was primarily a receiver in college, in fact he's #2 all-time in receiving yardage at Georgia. I'm speaking specifically to players who are essentially learning an entirely new position. Randle El and Matt Jones had never played WR, and that's a lot of catch-up to play at the pro level, even when a player has the kind physical talent these guys have.

Can somebody throw together a short list of college QBs who became successful WRs in the modern era (again, using the criterion that they were not also WRs in college)? I honestly can't think of any, but there must be a few.

the Cowboys who will most benefit from another year of experience are the coaches--if we had not won 13 games, we would be anticipating an improvement in wins just based on that. also, we're talking about a team--a team can be disrupted by constantly bringing in outside guys. I hope we develop the guys we have but will not be surprised when Jones acquires another big-name WR.
