Who (or what) do YOU want the Cowboys to do with their first round pick this year?

Jernigan

or trade down and take Calvin Pryor

because we need to get stronger up the middle of the D

If Manziel slipped then you take him.

If not you got for the best DE or DT. If not I'd be be happy with Pryor or Clinton-Dix.

Part of me would love to see what this Offense could would look like with Mike Evans, Dez Bryant, Terrance Williams, Witten, and Escobar in the passing game.

trade down a few slots and hopefully add a 3rd. with 1st pick look to take either Donald or Martin. this draft should be defense heavy but i think we need a solid OL pick early.

D Line and O Line ... and trade down and pickup picks in the 3rd and 4th and get more D line and O line.

In a perfect world the best DT or DE but I could live with a Top FS depending on who is available. It would be hard to justify a skills player with how our D performed last year BUT if a guy like Watkins falls to you it would be hard to pass up.
Agreed. Sometimes you have to go BPA when someone falls.

I'd prefer to go Ealy in the first and then grab a DT in the second. That would be my top choice. Wouldn't be opposed to moving down a bit and grabbing Donald, then trying to find another edge rusher later, there are a few of those guys there this year.

last year we passed on a top rated FS (Reid, who made the pro bowl btw),i dont think they will do that agian if a top ranked safety is available @16.

Reid played on a team with the second best defensive front 7 in football.

If we drafted Eric Reid this past year, we would have still finished 8-8 with this defense. We need help up front.

I never dissagreed with that,a safety might be the top ranked player again by the time we pick,we either stay put or trade down and miss out on a very good safety.there are plenty of other picks to shore up the dline but we might get a shot at drafting the best safety in the draft.

how does Ha Ha compare to Reid and Kenny V from last year? just curious what folks think.

If running the 4-3 or some hybrid of it, investment in DE/DT is a must.
Ware is no longer effective, forget Spencer (injury prone), Hatcher is not worth the money, Selvie & Hayden -- just role players.
Dallas needs to hit big in the early rounds on the D-line. The entire D-line should be overhauled.

Recent, Super Bowl winning teams running the 4-3 & the investment in the D-Line.
Granted, not all these players were originally drafted by the teams listed, but through trades, free agency, etc. they got players in their prime.

92-93 Dallas:
1. Russell Maryland - 1st round
2. Tony Casillas - 1st round
3. Charles Haley (4th round) would have been a 1st round pick in 86'

96 Green Bay:
1. Reggie White - 1st round in Supplemental draft
2. Sean Jones- 2nd round

98 Broncos:
1. Trevor Price - 1st round
2. Neil Smith - 1st round

99 Rams:
1. Kevin Carter - 1st round
2. Grant Wistrom - 1st round

02 Bucs:
1. Simeon Rice - 1st round
2. Warren Sapp - 1st round
3. Booger McFarland - 1st round

06 Colts:
1. Dwight Freeney - 1st round
2. Robert Mathis (5th round) would have been a 1st round pick in 03'
3. Booger McFarland - 1st round

07, 11 Giants:
1. Mathias Kiwanuka - 1st round
2. M. Strahan- 2nd round
3. Osi Umenyiora - 2nd round
4. Jimmy Kennedy - 1st round
5. Pierre-Paul - 1st round
6. Justin Tuck - 3rd round.

Ha Ha Clinton-Dix/ Pryor if available, if not trade down to late 1st, pickup either Hageman/ Donald and pick up a 2nd or 3rd inthe process

BPA on defense with our first pick. No getting fancy. If Barr, Ealy, Donald are there pick one of them up in that order. I'm sure if we drop to the mid 20s we will lose a chance on all of them.

Dumbest post of the new year. Lol

I understand where us coming from. This draft is not going to make Dallas a contender or keep the current coaching staff. 2014 is very likely a wasted year with a lame duck coaching staff and the new coach would have more picks to work with.

I hear ya. I honestly do. I just refuse to believe that before any given season has yet to begin that it should automatically be considered a wasted season. I'm just not wired that way.
