I don't think being on the team at the same time makes them equal. I agree Romo is probably sure to get in, but the guys that will be Hall of Famers likely are probably higher on the list in my mind.

That may be so for you, but I think the majority of Cowboys fans don't think Romo is lesser candidate for the Ring of Honor than Witten and Ware.
And as to the Hall of Fame - there are a good number Cowboys fans \CZ members here that feel his career merits inclusion.

But I think it's fair to say there are varying opinions on Romo. Threads may mostly be positive, but there are negative ones as well. There are those that felt Jerry was too devoted to him and that he wasn't the kind of leader that could take the team to the Super Bowl. That's part of the burden of playing QB - you get that kind of thing piled on your back.

Also look at the points of comparison among existing ROH members. For Romo it's Aikman and Staubach, both of who were in the playoffs frequently, and both multiple Super Bowl winners. Despite bigger passing stats, Romo simply isn't revered like those guys are. For Witten, there is no point of comparison - no other TE in the ROH - nobody he has to live up to. He is easily considered the best the Cowboys have had at that position. For Ware it's Harvey Martin and Charles Haley. If the position was QB it would be viewed differently because the others had much more playoff success, but that is much less a factor in how people perceive positions other than QB, and Ware's sack totals put him solidly alongside those guys.

Also look at the threads that discuss Hall of Fame. Nobody denies Witten is, and should be, a lock for the HOF. I doubt many would deny that Ware is. Many Cowboy fans, however, will argue strongly that Romo is not, and should not be.

I just think you have 2 clear HOFers who's entrance to the ROH cannot be perceived as being illegitimate compared to their position peers who are already there, and 1 guy who I believe will never make the HOF and who isn't remotely perceived at the same iconic level as others at the same position that are in the ROH.

They will all go through the validation process for induction every year. The committee overseeing the process will debate their worthiness each time - then approve or deny their induction.

The ROH designation is currently in the hands of one person - Jerry Jones.
He will decide who and when each player will get the award.

You missed the point. Nobody perceives Witten & Ware as illegitimate relative to others in the ROH at their position. Nobody would argue they don't stack up to other Cowboys at their positions in the ROH. THAT was my point. That's not the case with Romo. Romo isn't revered in remotely the same way as Staubach or Aikman. Among old timers maybe even not as much as Merideth.

I know full well the ROH is not connected to the HOF - you are again missing the point. The point is it would be ridiculous to suggest a sure fire HOF famer wouldn't be perceived as a stronger ROH candidate than one that will never make the HOF. Outside of guys that were short timers in Dallas (Ditka/Alworth/Jackie Smith/Adderly etc) Cowboy HOFers are in the ROH. Those guys are not left out.

I also understand that Jerry is the current decision maker for the ROH, which is a big reason I think Romo is probably a sure thing to get in.

But if you want to keep getting bent out of shape over me saying Romo is "probably a sure thing for ROF" instead of saying he is unquestionably a sure thing, so be it. It's very slight distinction, and it's idiotic to be so upset over it.
