How they had Dino Babers they hired and that guy was a terrible hire and in fact he was demoted and Sumlin took over under RC and A&M had it's best offense ever under Sumlin in that small stretch even putting up big numbers with Dustin Long at QB for a few games due to injury (Who transferred to Sam Houston State soon after).

Sumlin has ties back to Texas A&M

Yep, but a head coach is different than a coordinator. Every school in America has a black coach on staff.

Really since how many Division 1 schools have hired minority coaches as HC the track record in Division 1 football is abysmal

I don't really have a problem with the number, there are currently 18 black head coaches in the FBS out of 120 total teams. 15% of all major college football teams are coached by black men, while the black population makes up 12% of America as a whole. Statistically speaking, the number of black head coaches is right where one would expect it to be.

Color me bitter...

Tell me about it. If the Aggie D had been able to stop the pathetic UT offense in the final two minutes Mike Sherman would still be the coach at TAMU. As it is, the Ags choke job wound up biting our Coogs in the butt.

They choke, we pay the price. Ain't cfb great?

If nothing else, it stops all the "A&M is a good old boy school full of racists" schtick that other coaches have used againt us in recruiting for years.

Based on some of the comments I've read on various Aggie boards in the last 24 hours, that may be a tad premature. If Sumlin struggles early it could still get mighty ugly up in College Station.

Just grand, I tell ya. Just grand.

I'm having to bite my tongue, because how I really feel isn't Zone appropriate.

I don't begrudge any man wanting to do better for himself professionally, but as a UH alum, I'm disgusted by how the end of his tenure was handled and I'm pissed that UH has to search again for a coach.

That has nothing to do with his race and everything to do with our fanbase being so sick and tired of losing. We had a national top 10-15 program from 1985 to 1999 and over the last decade or so we have been the most underachieving team in the nation. It's hard to go from winning seven conference titles in 15 seasons to nothing and be happy. When a fanbase that large goes that long without winning, they get very impatient.
