Who should the Cowboys hire as Head Coach?

I'd love a hot shot coordinator and youth but that is not happening unless it's Kellen Moore.

I'm not totally against Moore but Floaty would be insufferable.
Unless Moore has learned a lot in his 2 stints and realized that no use in slinging the ball with a limited QB , having a good running game ( &OL) will help the whole offense , but on defensive side he will still draw blank.

We need a real good HC with his own assistants and not a OC who will be HC and let Jerry DC run his defense, these kind of half hires had doomed us during Wade , Garrett & initial McCarthy times.

I'd prefer Aaron Glenn. Seems like a strong leader, and good scout of talent, plus I like the connection to Parcells.

Also, don't kill me. But I'd love to see Deion here solely for the entertainment factor. It be a fun two years.
I like Glenn, but Deion is too much drama. We don't need that.

Kellen Moore or Mike Zimmer would seem to be the easiest hires and check all the Jones boxes. Both would be lazy hires, that I can't see yielding different results.

Personally Ben Johnson would be my number 1, followed by a few college coaches.

Think Aaron Glenn may be the most likely to be a head coach 10 years from now. Just sayin.

This guy gets it
The three college HCs are signed to deals for more than Jones will pay. Lanning is over $8 million per season now signed through 2031. Johnson is asking for $15 million per season and control over who is the GM. ”This guys gets” nothing.

The thread is about who we should hire, not who we will hire.

But please continue to be miserable.

Best college coaches if you go that way:

Kirby Smart
Dabo
Freeman

Give me Flores or Saleh paired with a Shannahan disciple OC.

Of course, "who should" is a different question than "who will"... I've said above I believe Aaron Glenn likely is going to be successful wherever he ends up, and a head coach in the NFL for the next 10 years at minimum.

I believe Kellen Moore gets the job, and I'll put my money on his DC being one of either Kris Richard or Matt Eberflus (who were on staff when he was a Cowboy)... though both are unemployed and it's not a reach to think both end up in some role.
