Who should we be rooting for?

Sure Dallas is better at home but I don’t think we’d have trouble beating Tampa on the road. Seattle or Rams would be a much tougher game at home.

We will more than likely have to beat 49ers at their place anyway. Whether we play them in the divisional or championship game and lose does it really matter? The goal is the Super Bowl… anything else is a let down.
I think all three games would be about equally tough, maybe Seattle slightly easier at home. I rate the Rams the highest but they will most likely be the 6th seed. Seattle and TB are a wash and I’d much rather have the home games. Furthermore, there’s a higher possibility we don’t face SF until the nfccg if we do get there and I think with that monkey off our back and some momentum there’s a much higher chance we beat them then if we have to do it in the divisional round once again. Ultimately I think in order of ease for round one I think Seattle/GB/Min would be easiest followed by Rams/TB away being toughest. I’d rather have the extra potential home game.

Our likely position has obviously changed after the early games, but whats likely to be the case from here?

I suppose SF has clinched the one seed, but who is our likely opponent in the 2/7 game? Who do/don’t we want to see?

It’s been discussed that the 5/4 game will be easier for the favorite than the 2/7, but the advantage the following week is far different.

Seems obvious that we would rather face Min or GB as opposed to LAR/Seattle.

Maybe someone who gets it and isn’t still on a bender from last night can help me out. Appreciate….

The more games this team plays at home, the better. Doesn't matter who they play first or second. If they are the 2 seed, they have a legit shot at making the NFC Championship game.

That’s fair. I think Seattle and Rams are the two teams that could give us the most trouble whether we are home or away. None of the other playoff teams really scare me (minus 49ers). Playing the 49ers in Santa Clara is inevitable and I would rather play them after they had a long break with the hope of them being a little rusty after not playing for a couple weeks.

I’m rooting for Washington and Philly to win. I want the 5 seed… Tampa is a much easier first game than Seattle or Rams. I don’t care that we will have to play 49ers in the divisional round… we will have to beat them at their place anyway to get where we want to go.
Anyone who says they’re a fan and wants there team to lose is where I question their fandom!!!

Question it all you want. I don’t have to prove a thing. I want the easiest path possible to a Super Bowl. I think that is playing Tampa in the first round.

This isn’t hard…..

Three road games to SB playing TB probably.

One road game to SB playing GB probably.

Green Bay at home for the first game would be a gift. If someone knocks out SF, that would be all home games to the SB. Dallas is a different team at home and not so good on the road.

Again, this isn’t hard…….

It’s not hard. I’ve said the two teams I don’t want to play first round.. Seattle and Rams. If we get to play GB first round at home sign me up. If it’s Rams or Seattle I’d rather play Tampa.

The problem is you’re not thinking it all the way through. Looks sweet but gets exponentially harder after round one and potentially all away from home we’re 3-5 this year.

The best path is two home games, starting with the 7th seed.

The rams are 6th seed…. Idk what happens if they lose next week but they’re playing a sf team with nothing to play for. They are the team I’d like to avoid. And also a team that could upset Detroit (forcing us to go to SF I’m the divisional round).

But then winning that would bring the nfc title game to Dallas
If they lose next week and we win and the Packers win then we play them. The Rams will have the 7th seed and the Packers will have the 6th seed. I see the Rams beating the Niners since they really have nothing to play for and why would they want to risk and injury

With playoff football I never like to really wish for any particular opponent. It's that be careful what you wish for thing. There is no easy path in my opinion. Just survive and advance.

I am. We just have a different view. Home field advantage is nice and Dallas has been better at home… but I think Dallas has more of a problem with beating good teams than they do playing on the road. We beat 3 good teams at home and 2 of them were nail biters that could have went either way.

Some teams matchup better than others. IMO the worst matchups for Dallas are 49ers/Rams/Seattle.

It’s looking like we will play GB first round at home so I’m fine with that. But let’s just say Seattle ends up being the 7th seed. I’d rather be the 5th seed and play Tampa.

Tampa in the wild card round.
49ers in the divisional round after they are coming off a two week break of not playing football.
Rams/Detroit/Philly in the championship game… 2 of them are dome turf teams and Philly is definitely beatable at their place.

Green Bay still needs to beat Chicago next week. Bears have won 4 of their last 5. Only losing to the browns who are very good. Bears would LOVE revenge.

No guarantees Green Bay beats them.

They really hyping up Green Bay. Ugh.
Green Bay has a bright future with Love but their defense is horrendous. They’ll be an easy out in the playoffs (if it’s them). This was a supposed to be a rebuilding year for them.
