no i would trade FLO n Barber...in a pakaged deal....like for a 1st or 2nd.....or get a player....hell i might even throw Colombo in there...maybe

but barber n FLO need to go...im sick of barber wasting a carry...and Flo, killin a drive....i like him..but it sickens me

i am not saying you cant false start...but every game? then you wanna hold most of the times

Flo has had his share of false starts but it seemed that Witten was getting flagged more than Flo as the season went on.

flo=elite player that shuts down elite players.

he will be missed when he leaves, but he better retire a cowboy.

horrible and ridiculous thread.

When the hell did we decide to cut Columbo? we just paid him did we not? What are you people smoking? It's freaking early.

Sorry, but what team will want to trade their number one for a 33 year old tackle and a running back that has not broken 1000 yards rushing in a couple of years? Flo is still playing decently, but Free should be given a long look at LT next year. If he is to be the one then this coming year is when they have to work him there exclusively. By keeping Flo on the roster, it will give us a back up plan in case Free cannot hold up at LT.

Colombo I will give a pass on this last game. Edwards had a great game, but Marco was coming off an injury.

Flo-
I think: Hes about done, and if he falls off the cliff it could ruin a promising season
I think Jerry thinks: Hes been so good for years he deserves another shot

as with every other LT in the league....we need to find his replacement but releasing him would be Season suicide

Hamlin-
I think: He didnt get beat much b/c our rush is so good. Id cut him and move Ball to FS, then draft a CB mid roundish.
I think Jerry thinks: Hes our capítan! W/O him the D would line up backwards.

maybe you should look back at how good the secondary became when he came back from injury ...he is not as bad as made out by some...yes i would love a playmaking S but Hamlin isnt the problem

Carpenter- One more year on contract
I think: His bad plays stand out to us and he serves a purpose.
I think Jerry thinks: Something similar

he has improved ....not prepared to cut just yet

Colombo-
I never liked him, injury or not.
Jerry thinks: nothing of this b/c it wont get discussed

until the Minn game he had a good season...he was injured ..not ready to cut

If you suggest RW you lose b/c its not happening so stop

you lose as well because no one on your list is going anywhere either...so stop

none of our starters should be released..maybe secure better back ups .i would just churn the bottom of the roster of guys like Hurd, Mcquistan, and Proctor to see if we can get a player who actually contributes

Apparently we would save furure cap room by cutting a player in the uncapped year.

I could see us draft a T early and cutting Flo in TC. Same w/ Hamlin.

Colombo will probably get a pass, but if I were Romo Id hate that guy

and you would be wrong...there is no way a rookie comes in and beats out Flo.....not happening......you dont seem to realize how good Flo is...he is still a top 10 LT....and he had a good season...penalties were way down

Clady, Joe Thomas, Oher, Long

Wed have to move up but it happens.

Cutting Flo in TC helps him find a new spot hypothetically

Like I said in another thread today, with the way some of you act, its like we were a 5-11 team full of holes and blowout losses, not an 11-5 team that some thought was going to end up in the Super Bowl based on the way they closed the season.

We dont have any "bad" players. We have some who've underachieved (Hamlin, R Williams come to mind).I dont know that we have many players who need to be "released" because they suck. Suisham maybe, though he probably isnt under contract for next year anyway.

The idea that we need to cut guys like Flozelle Adams or Colombo or Newman is just laughable.

those guys were the best on their teams when they got drafted...Clady and Oher wouldnt beat out Flo.....Thomas and Long may have (not certain) but they were top 3 overall picks and we cant trade up that high ....not sure there is a Thomas or Long in this draft either way...maybe Okung

Hard to believe the team can't find someone better than Proctor. Good thing no one remembers how much he sucks.

Clady was like 12-14 I think...

Dont get the attitude. Were not married to these guys, there will be some moves.

ill bet whatever you want that our Oline stays the same for the start of next season...Free may replace Columbo as starter but thats it...

im not saying we shouldnt prepare to replace Flo but a rookie isnt gonna come in and unseat him.......

I don't know about you, but I would LOVE to have Clady as our LT. I WOULD trade Flo for Clady in a heartbeat. He is a freaking beast.

I am not going to argue with assessment of these players, but one thing everyone forgets is if you release one player, you need to REPLACE him. what's the replacement plan? you just don't release a player because you think they are done specially if they are still performing average to above average. now. your argument is lacking realistic replacements for these players.

now you could argue free to replace Adams.
Ball to replace Hamlin
Who is going to replace Carpenter? that's proven.

and now with the release you have also impacted depth. how will depth be replaced.

now, I am not against replacing players, specially when they are not producing and they are a liability (ala Roy Williams 38).

but don't just list players that you want released, because if we do this for everyone that's posting on here we would release

Adams
Columbo
Kosier
Groude
Barber
Hamlin
Newmann
Carpenter
Spears
Roy Williams
Hurd

and we only have 6 draft picks.

witten can do that...he makes up for it..and this was his first season...FLO has been doing it for years
You could make the argument that Flo's pass blocking is as good as Witten's receiving...in fact I would. That's why Flo gets a pass on the false starts.

I think the only guy that should be gone is Hamlin...though losing Barber wouldn't hurt my feelings like it would have not too long ago. I think it is important that the front office is certain that if Flo struggles, someone is ready to go in for him. I actually think that guy is already on the team in either Free or Brewster, who the coaching staff was real high on before he got injured. I really don't think OLine depth is as big of an issue as we think.

You could make the argument that because of Flo Witten actually catches a pass. We know all that once Flo when down in the Vikings game, the offense imploded.

at least carp made some plays this year, release hamlin asap

Don't release either one. Have them earn their jobs back. I am sorry ,but, Ball was good in the backfield, and I know that is alot to ask of Ball, coordinating the defense on the field. But, with Hamlin back there, it was much smoother.

I am not into keeping any player if there is another better someplace. Right now, you keep Hamlin.

Carp? Hmmm. I don't know...

I guarantee you no team will take any offer that has both Barber and Flo. Those contracts are massive.
