Who starts at CB

Why would any one want Scandrick over a healthy Newman? Not at this point. This defense is going to have a slow start to begin with.

I think in JG PC.....he mentioned......IF you dont practice....you dont play...

Jenkins is out there.....Newman? will find out Wed.

What do you mean? He has the uncanny ability to ALWAYS have his back to the ball/play. I would say that takes some serious skill. I don't think I have ever seen the back of a players jersey as much as Scandrick's.
Were you around when we had the Kevin's at CB. Those guys had balls bouncing off the back of their helmets. If they had worn the helmet backwards a ball might have got stuck in the face mask for an interception.

Scandrick & Jenkins on the edges. That's what I would love to see regularly.

Didn't Scandrick and Jenkins stink last year on the edges? I mean they may come to their senses this year but I can't imagine why someone would LOVE to see that regularly when we saw that last year.

QFT

Was Campo the coach during those years?

Campo is another coach that I wish would have bounced. I like him as a person, but...?

Oh well, if Garrett likes him, I'm good to go, I think?

I would like to see him gone too. I'm sure he's forgotten more about football than I'll ever know, but maybe, just maybe, he's forgotten too much.:p:

That's a good point!

The times are changing, and that goes for coaches first, then players. Yet, he's still here?

We're on the same page here. I tend to believe the inability of the cbs to turn around and locate the ball is on the coach. I believe Dave teaches them positioning relative to the player versus relativity to the location of the ball. It still baffles me that he is still around... but whatever.

I've said the something every time...

But, I have no clue...maybe Ryan does something different and teaches Campo how to get the players to do it?

If Ryan wants him, then I'm good to go, I guess?

I saw a video clip the other day (I can't remember where) and there was a short (no pun intended) shot of Campo TELLING the DB to NOT look at the ball. In fairness, he may have been telling him to make sure he knew where the receiver was, but it didn't look like that to me.

Yeah me too. If Ryan/Garrett kept him, We have to believe it's for good reason.

I like Scan on the right side and Newman on the left. Jenkins comes in on nickle and plays the right. I think right now with Jenkins having issues with his shoulder (stingers), best to not have him tackling so much.

If Newman isn’t ready, i guess Scan goes to the left? Or roll with Ball and Scan on early downs. We need to ease T-New and Jenk slowly otherwise they will end up getting hurt again.

I think Scan is doing a much better job of locating the ball. He made two great plays in the Minny game for those mentioning it.

Maybe I need to post the numbers on Scandrick again.

He has had back to back seasons with an opposing QB rating of 100+ on him.He was responsible for 7 passing TDs last year.

He is only 24, and may get much better, but up to now, he has been pretty bad.

In 4 games against the Cowboys, Eli has gone at Orlando 33 times for the following line: 23-33, 265 yards, 4 TDs and 0 Ints - QB Rating of 133.2.

In 2010, Orlando Scandrick had the second worst success rate of ANY CB in football

........sadly in this case they don't. I don't know why Rob and the others like him so much. Most any slot receiver constantly toasts him. I think Rob lets him start opposite Jenkins with McCann in ths slot and Ball backing up...oh never mind, god what a mess. The guys I just named aren't very good....AT ALL. We better get to the QB this season because our coverage wil NOT improve.

Guys... Seriously.. Can we agree that playing the slot is more difficult than playing the corner? Can we agree on that? I'm willing to bet money that Scandrick will look much better if given a sideline to play with... Put Tnew in the slot and watch him get toasted.

Newman used to play the slot a lot when younger and he was pretty good at it. And scandricks number are worse then pretty much every nickel back in the NFL. He has had two terrible seasons in a row.

I am right there with u on t choice. But I think we are on a different wavelength with oscan.

I have read/heard he really likes Scandrick's blitzing ability but I have yet to read or see one thing touting his coverage ability. Scandrick will never be more than a good nickel corner. Honestly, if we are talking about the edges, I would take Ball over Scandrick.

I agree with this except for the last sentence about taking Ball over Scandrick.
I tell you I WOULD take McCann on the edge over Scandrick. He hasn't played enough yet in the NFL but I liked Mario Butler's ball skills from what I saw of them.
