Might be the case.. But if he is he certainly won't be the first talented player who could not reach his potential without the right voice in his ear. Half the guys in the Hall of Fame would admit their careers would have been very different had they not landed with the right coach or in the right system to allow them to maximize their talent. Yes there are plenty who would be studs in any system or any situation.. but those guys are rare. Think Emmitt rushes for 18000 yards if the Cowboys don't hire Norv? And then replace him with Zampese, essentially Norv's mentor? I don't.. Haley probably gets kicked out of the league if he doesn't get traded out of San Fran. The examples are many and varied. Remember how amazing John Jefferson was in San Diego with Dan Fouts? Getting into trouble and then getting traded to a revolving door QB situation in Green Bay cost him his chances at the Hall. I could go on and on but I know you get the drift.. I just like strolling down memory lane!! :)

Excellent points.

:lmao: clueless.
Sad. Incapable of reasoning and discussion, I see. Are you even capable of any sort of analyzation? Do you even have a clue as to what a skillset is? You really need to take up reading or something, as your football acumen is sorely lacking. And holy larry, your evaluation and discussion skills appear to be on the level of around 9 years old. Try again, dude, but can you at least try to bring something worthwhile this time? Name calling, sad.

The list is long of great players who needed just the right situation/coaching/surrounding players.

You just said a guy with 0.5 sacks in 3 years is the closest to Aaron Donald on the roster. You don't deserve real discussion lol.

That's the huge sack I missed that created the legend of Mika Tafua? There were less than 4 minutes to play in a preseason blowout at 1 in the morning. My bad. :muttley:

By the way, the tackle he beat was Zack Bailey. The Chargers are Bailey's fourth team in his 2 years since leaving college and he's never been more than a practice squad player (for Minnesota and Washington). He's basically a scrub.

So despite now being more informed about Mr. Tafua, I'm still not getting on the hype train. He'll be on a practice squad, just like the guy he beat, at best.

I don't disagree.. but as I said before, Tafua was in the game throughout the first half showed up on more than one occasion. Don't fall into the trap of only judging guys by their stats... The kid made more than one noteworthy play.. Go back and watch the whole game if you of a mind to. You'll see it..

Other than his draft status why do people think Gohlston is making this team? I have literally seen nothing from him.

And again, you're not even intelligent enough to examine the statement, just cheap insults. Go away, little one.

Taffy was very active whenever he was in, from what I saw. However, he appears to lack the physical skills to be consistently disruptive in the NFL. I'm thinking PS.

The Cowboys are so deep at DT. Ironic, considering how weak that position has been the past few seasons.

I think they keep Osa, Gallimore, Hill, Bohanna and Ridgeway at DT. Odd man out is Watson.

At DE they keep Fowler, Dorance, D-Law, Williams and Basham.

How many can you keep? I keep Hill over Ridgeway - never thought I’d say that.

Ridgeway hasn't done much. He won't get claimed.

Hill though, he might be traded for some teams disappointing OT going into year 4 of his deal.

Moderators like you are my favorite, you bring a lot to the board in terms of analysis and positivity.

He's better than Ridgeway.

Or Bryant.

Better than even Basham.

He may well be, although I'm not sure that's saying much.

I was laughing more at the fact that I was criticized for not recalling Tafua's awesome play in the final minutes of a garbage preseason blowout against a scrub tackle. :muttley:

No one saying Tafua is Parsons level or even rotation capable.

But you obviously have not watched the entire Chargers game or even followed the camp reports.

I never claimed anyone said anything about Parsons or anything else, so you're just making stuff up.

I watched the entire Chargers game. I was also moderating this forum and his big sack came at about 1 in the morning in my world, garbage time of a preseason game.

But I guess I don't qualify for super fan status in your eyes because I haven't kept track of an UDFA end from Utah. I guess that's a cross I shall have to bear.

So if you watched the entire Chargers game then you actually saw that Tafua did more than just 1 "garbage" sack in 4th amirite?

I barely watch preseason games because they're mostly boring and I'm not in the room making roster decisions. I was focused more on my duties here.

I'm sick of talking about some guy who barely has a chance of even making the roster. Please, have this Tafua fan boy conversation with someone else.
