Might be the case.. But if he is he certainly won't be the first talented player who could not reach his potential without the right voice in his ear. Half the guys in the Hall of Fame would admit their careers would have been very different had they not landed with the right coach or in the right system to allow them to maximize their talent. Yes there are plenty who would be studs in any system or any situation.. but those guys are rare. Think Emmitt rushes for 18000 yards if the Cowboys don't hire Norv? And then replace him with Zampese, essentially Norv's mentor? I don't.. Haley probably gets kicked out of the league if he doesn't get traded out of San Fran. The examples are many and varied. Remember how amazing John Jefferson was in San Diego with Dan Fouts? Getting into trouble and then getting traded to a revolving door QB situation in Green Bay cost him his chances at the Hall. I could go on and on but I know you get the drift.. I just like strolling down memory lane!!
Excellent points.
