Who stays who goes along the DL

Does anybody have anything on Randy Gregory? If he is not a part of 2020 he has to be gone for good, no?

Anything on Gregory?

Thanks in advance for the update.

We got more bang for our buck with Hyder than anyone else on the Dline. He’s a keeper.

LOL.

You dump Lawrence and he's got $37MM in dead cap money.

He's a lock for this roster. Don't delude yourself. He could probably walk into MM's office, drop his pants, and crap on his floor and he'd probably still be on this team because financially, it's almost impossible for him to not be on the team in 2020.
:facepalm::oldcouple: hey man, I just imagined that mentally and began laughing. Your likely right, but I guess I would love to see DLaw get his head right. He seems all over the map right now.

your not wrong. He and Quinn showed me they belong. They are just good football players with high motors and football IQ.

I haven't heard squat on Gregory. Been like a gag order was handed out lol.

We heard recently that Mike Nolan will continue to run a 4 men base alignment, but will have some hybrid looks in the sub-packages. There has been some rumblings by Will McClay that this staff covets Defensive Tackles with size, which is very refreshing to here. With so many free agents along the DL, who stays, who goes?

Quinn-Stays (He is coming off a tremendous season and is the ideal RE for a 4 man scheme)

Collins/Crawford/Hyder-one stays, 2 go. The team has to keep a veteran in place to groom his replacement
Crawford is still under contract, but the team could save 8 million if he's released. Crawford stays under a reduced contract.

Woods/Covington-One will be retained for the rotation.

I fully expect not only draft capital addressing this area, but some form of free agency.

Quinn should stay at 4 to 5 mil
Crawford should go for Cap reasons
Hyder can stay only if cheap
Collins can go
Covington can stay
Woods can go

3 kept but looking for two or three new ones and actually two in the Draft

I would like to see Quinn comeback. Pretty sure we will be stuck trying to prove Hill was a legit pick and keep him. Crawford has to be gone or restructured. Woods or Covington likely back if Crawford goes or restructures. Hopefully all a moot point and we draft two tackles in April that put everyone else on the bench unless there is an injury or rotation to sit out a couple of plays. I sure hope we can land Kinlaw in April.

I believe they make Quinn a priority. Keep him. They'll tender Woods to keep him one more year. I believe the rest are gone. Only DLAW, Quinn, Woods, Armstrong and Hill will return. They will draft and address in FA.

Woods is an ERFA, so he will stay, unless they do not tender him an offer. Which I see no reason why they would not do that. keep him and let him compete in TC.
What did Covington really do to stay, he is also a FA, he may get an offer somewhere else.

Totally agree, Woods was above average against the run and will be on a cheap contract, it amazes me that people are posting about cutting him.

DE - DLaw, Armstrong

Offer Quinn a good but not crazy offer. Hyder back on something a bit above the minimum again.

Crawford back on a greatly reduced contract like 3MM per.

Joe Jackson and Jalen Jelks compete for spots.

DT - Woods and Hill return, Wise competes for a spot.

Spend in free agency and several mid round picks. Offer Maliek Collins a one year make rebound contract and see what offers he gets in FA.

likely getting suspended may get cut to be a way to get the layers attention that the new coaches wont put up with it..little things like that go along way/..

when is signing period. i am ready
any reasonable chance Gregory can come back and stay? he would be a back up for Quinn (have to keep).
keep bennet and move lawrence to DT for pass rushing if Gregory can play.

otherwise we still need a quality (for real quality) and a early draft (DT more likely than DE)

woods has to stay as backup

Reported previously that Crawford is willing to take a pay cut.

Woods will be retained regardless of anything else. Young, costs nothing, and actually seems to deliver at his position. 6-4 with him, 2-4 w/o him this year. ERFA. We have him for 2 more years.

Woods is really all we've got at DT. With Crawford having to bail on this season for chronic issues, I'm not counting on him being healthy next year.

EDIT: I'm puzzled why anyone thinks Woods is leaving.

I think the Chiefs will lose this SB game because Mahomes has masked some flaws on the dline. They have one stud there..chris jones. They can be run on often. The niners have the complete team and balance needed to win. Mostert and Samuel will hurt then badly.

I think it makes a lot of difference who gets the early lead. If the Chiefs get up an a team early it can get ugly before halftime.
