God, that would be the ultimate slap in the face to Owens if Romo won the MVP without him.

I laughed so hard I forgive you for ever suggesting my cheerleaders be taken away.

He has a shot, but part of me thinks Romo is still one year away before receiving that sort of accolade. Fact is, it'll take a while before the "gloom" surrounding the Cowboys dies down. We'll probably need one fantastic post-season run before our guys have a shot at individual awards. Unless of course they are so fantastic that they leave no doubt. If Romo only has slightly better numbers than the second place guy (say, Peyton Manning), he will not get the award.

Brady will win it this year.

If he plays great he will clearly have a chance. How Brady responds after missing last season is still a bit of a question mark

I don't think he's that bothered by it. The guy is a freaking robot.

Romo certainly has the talent to do it. He just has to keep it going and not slump towards the end of the season... which of course depends in part on the team around him.

I like the direction we are heading in. The main problem the last two seasons IMO was that teams figured out how to defense the offense. Dallas needs to get good enough with their execution that even though teams know what we're going to do... they can't stop it anyway. That is where the 90's cowboys got to and that is where this year's team is headed towards.

Just out physical and out execute the defense. With the ball spreading around between Felix, Marion, R Wi11iams, MartyB, Witten and Crayton, I can see teams not really having a good idea about how to stop Romo and the Cowboys offense.

If things keep going like they are... I'd say Romo will have a real good shot.

He'll have to really out perform Brady though, because the media and fans love the guy and this is his comeback year. Romo will have to leave no doubt.

LOL. That made me laugh because I told my friend the same thing about Tom, except I said cyborg.

I hope Tony has a brilliant season and it would be nice for MVP-but just improvement in his game (limiting TOs) would make me content-oh and those playoff victories would be nice too.

How about we win a playoff game first?

IMO league MVP means nothing if you can't win the big games. This should be the furthest thing from his mind.

Nobody can make a positive post without the predictable "lets win a playoff game before we worry about that" response.

I swear I do not understand why people come here if they do not want to talk about anything until we win a playoff game.

We cannot win a playoff game for a few more months ..... if you do not want to talk about anything until then ..... see ya in 2010.

Good grief.

As far as the original subject ...... No, I think there would be to much bias against Romo this year for him to win it unless it was not even close.

Because personal accolades come before the team.

I could care less if any of our players received any NFL honor - if we don't take care of business and win a Superbowl.

Don't get me wrong. I dig Romo and think he can get it done. But, all he's known for so far is not winning when it matters.

Now that's something I could pull for.

Has a shot but a long shot at best, too many great players in NFL. He needs to step up this year, so far, not even a top 5 QB.

Every year he's a MVP candidate but it will come down to wins... Can he lead this Cowboys team to victories and put up good numbers at the same time?

(I.E. no dumb INT's late in the game or protecting the ball better)

I guess we'll see. But while I believe Josh McDaniels will be a lousy HC, he was a great offensive coordinator. They will miss him. Moss is another year older. Their OL isnt exactly steller either.

I dont think he gets anywhere near those numbers he had two years ago.

Make that two of us. But it'll be fun to watch what goes on in NE this year, either way.
