Who thinks Romo makes it through next season without any injuries?

Tough Position to be in going into the draft. Most likely 1 of those qb's will be available probably not both Lynch and Goff at the 4th or 5th pick. But if you want to build around Tony you can land a absolute stud at Wr like Laquon Treadwell that will take this offense to another level.

Just listening to Jerry and Stephen recently I think they are leaning towards getting some help on offense this year. Jerry has been pleased with the way the defense has played all year and That's why I think they'll go for a stud Wr like Treadwell.

I can see them taking a qb like Wentz or Hackenberg in the 2nd rd if they fall. I think Jerry tries to build around Romo for 1 more year and then try to get a Kaepernick or Rg3 to back him up.

I don't believe he will play even half the season. Garrett's teams always seem to be a glass house that are beautiful on paper but done once there is a crack. As a fan I just hope they don't lose key pieces for long time periods but it's a foolish hope. For most teams with a front office and coaching staff that is in concert with one another and relatively smart, you know they will do well in the face of injuries. For this one, without the lucky stroke of health, they crumble.

Through next season without any injuries? I dont, he'll be 36 and hasnt played a full season since 2011. We have to draft qb in the first round, or we'll be looking at the same results next season.

Romo has failed to finish 3 out of the last 6 seasons (2010, 2013, 2015).

Next year he will be 36. He won't be a young 36.

They have to find his eventual replacement.

Where is rationale behind this thread coming from?

In the last five years he's played 15,15,16, 16, & 4 games.

The same amount as Roethliberger by the way. Yes injury is always a concern and he's older but it's not like he's been playing half seasons. Brady has missed full seasons before and Peyton us right on the edge, it happens but I don't see this as a trend and there's nothing to suggest there is.

I agree we need to find his replacement but c'mon. He had two awkward hits on the same injury and it will be fully healed and he's another year removed from back surgery.

He's running out of ways to fall. Anything with the shoulder again and he's done. Time to retire.

Dolly I hate to be the sugar in your tank but you are in for such a rude awakening as we try and find the next guy. I feel bad for you. Unless we get real lucky or real bad (like this year) there is a long drought coming. And it's obvious this year didn't teach you anything about failure without him.

Troy Aikman is not walking through that door and Ii bet you aren't old enough to remember Kevin Sweeney - you can be thankful for that.

Again, Romo is here for the next 2 years unless we want to take a major cap hit. Yeah, obviously there is a chance he doesn't make it the ENTIRE season, but that could also mean he only misses a single game or two.

Yes, we will have to "hope" he makes it through the majority of the next two seasons because we are stuck with him. This discussion is getting tiresome.

So hope is our strategy?

Did I say we shouldn't have a viable backup? No. But people want to pretend to know what will happen when they don't. Same with Murray; most didn't give him a chance of staying healthy last year either.

While I agree it's time to start looking for his replacement we don't need to be panic mode and draft anther QC. And your stats are miss leading. He missed one game in 2013 and it just happened to be the last game. Tony has the same odds as every other QB when it comes to finishing a season. For all the talk about his back he has missed 2 games due to it. And with this year basically a year off for his back I don't think it will be an issue next year. If the right guy is there at a draft spot then get him. If not pick someone else.

This is true. Another way, the most pessimistic way, to look at it as that Romo has failed to finish 2 out of the last 3 seasons due to injury.

Beyond that he has failed to finish 3 out of the the last 6 seasons.

Is there another top QB in the past 6 years that has been unable to be there for their team at the end of the year as much as Romo?

IMHO, Romo's injury history in extremely concerning.

Appreciate what your saying but it's apples and oranges. I think he has less than 20% chance of playing the whole season. Pulling muscles and hamstrings is one thing. Broken shoulders and back injuries another.

Where do you get 20% from? Romo was played in every game just last year. Obviously he broke his collar bone this year, but it's ridiculous to speculate on breaking a bone.

I'll stand by the facts. Tony Romo has missed the end of the season 3 out of the past 6 seasons.

You can call it unlucky or whatever, however, it's a trend I refuse to ignore.

That's a valid point Perry and I'm not saying his injuries are off the radar but I think it's a little reactionary. In fact I think the way the league is going you should expect to lose your QB for some games each season. Eli is an anomaly but that won't last either. Brees, Luck, Roethliberger, Peyton, Taylor, Bradford, Dalton, Flacco, etc have missed games.

To your point Cam has been healthy and look where they are. It's almost come down to when you get hurt and if can you be there at the end.

Romo's best days are behind him. That is all we need to know. This team that Jerry concocted, simply can not win without Romo at his best..... truth hurts, back to the drawing board.. ...again.........
Since when have we known that?

Romo needs to do this team a favor and hang it up. I would rather start the "life without Romo" sooner than later. His ability to extend the play is the very reason he also gets hurt so often. Unfortunately he still has never learned how to throw the ball away.

He's got the durability of a 50 year old at this point. It would be foolish to expect him to go a full season without injuries considering his history of getting hurt six out of the last eight seasons

Play the percentages and look at his age and health. I hope my statement is wrong and we are celebrating a SB victory next season after Romo stayed healthy for most of it.......not going to bet on that though......
