Didn't really have any pet cats but had afew guys I wouldn't have minded:

Merriweather (however NOT @ 22)
Meacham
Houston
Solai (sp?)
Bush

Still holding out hope for Wolf to kick Thompson to the curb.

More disappointed that we didn't address DT than anything, but oh well. Next year's draft is already looking SWEET!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dallas took my pet cat.

Other than that, the Giants got two of them in Zak DeOssie and Steve Smith.

KC took Dwayne Bowe.

Because it was so hard to get a feel for where Dallas would end up going in this draft, I really didn't zero in on a few guys like I do most years. Like in 05 I wanted Merriman or Ware, or Bobby Carpenter last year.

Still, there were a few guys who I liked and hoped Dallas would get. Lucky for me... Spencer was one of the foremost guys that I wanted. I think he'll be just terrific in Wade's scheme.

I thought there might be a slim chance that A. Peterson would slip out of the top 10 and we move up for him.

I think Merriweather will be a very good DB, and freakin New England took him. Figures. Better than Philly, though.

I really thought Tanard Jackson would be a good later round pick.

I was pretty set against a WR in round 1, so no pet cat WR's.

I really liked Grubbs a lot and think he'll be a good one and the Ravens took him.

Finally, I love Nelson's athleticism at FS, but wasn't really too set on him because of the talk about his IQ being a little low.

Hos here are my tears for fears;

Aaron Ross CB went to Giants darn them all

Michael Griffin or Brandon Meriweather or later on Eric Weddle might have helped although I worried about the character issue with Mariweather

I wanted a DT or WR at some point in the second but it fell out after trading back into the first.

After that I had no special horses in any of the other races.

I cannot complain(much) with the way things worked out on the first day, wish we could have gotten another high third rounder worked in but that wasn't in the cards.

Dwayne Jarrett, I would have liked him.

One of my pet cats is still waiting for me to come pick him up patiently. Mason Cosby. I would love Dallas to kick a ball out of the endzone as opposed to the 10-15 yard line for a change.

The Dolphins took John Beck, QB, BYU in the 2nd round. Since the middle of last year I have touted him as someone I'd like us to grab.

The Bears took Dan Bazuin, DE, Central Michigan. I was a bit surprised he went in the 2nd round. The kid has a great motor though.

The Saints took Robert Meachem, WR,, Tennessee. When he was there at 22 I had my hopes up even though I already knew Spencer was our target.

The 49ers took Patrick Willis, ILB, Mississippi. When I accepted the fact my man love for Laron Landry was going to be unrequited I transferred it to Willis and then to Meachem as I watched Willis rise up the charts.

Sigh. The Commanders took Laron Landry, FS, LSU. A Landry in Washington just seems wrong.

Those were mine. Who were yours?

The Panthers took Dwayne Jarrett and Ryan Kalil so at least I get to see them pretty often.

I was really hoping Jarrett or Rice would slip to us at 53

On a more "civil" level I agree with you, here, peplaw. When he started to drop I was PRAYING he would make it to us (Jarret, that is). Unrealsitically, of course, but I was still praying.

I stepped on a hair ball last night, I wish someone would take my daughter's pet cats.

That one cracked me up!

Now KC just took K Justin Medlock from UCLA. I was hoping he would still be there in the 6th when we selected.

We ended up with 2 of my pet cats. One I'm embarrassed about but going to really pull for.

Nick Folk, K, Arizona

&

Courtney Brown, CB, Cal Poly

Really excited about Brown. I think he is a true steal.

Woodley to the Steelers - he is gonna be amazing with Tomlin as the coach.

Branch to the Cardinals - lets see how lazy he really is...

Alan Branch went to the Cardinals where they use a 4-3, bet he becomes another Warren Sapp.

Patrick Willis went to the 49ers and now I'm hoping Hoyte can spell James or Wade can utilize his strenghts..
