I believe that this game today against Washington was Garrett’s way of showing his critics wrong. We are not a running team, we are a throwing team first with a bit of running thrown in

Every body from writer to poster said run the ball more today he did 33 trys for 150 yards

If the running game is going good then fine you stick with it

We barely had 150 yards rushing today – wowziers
If not for Suisham we definitely lose the game today

When that final drive today he let Romo loose –

http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/gamecenter/playbyplay/NFL_20091122_WAS@DAL

And my gawd try an trade Roy Williams – sorry all of you RW lovers – it does not take a year an a half to get used to your QB – if you can find somebody that will take him
I mean he has had one good game since he’s been here – I think now that Romo is trying to forcing the ball to Roy – look were its got us – his best game 105 yards we get beat by GB – is his losing ways filtering to the team ?

So if you can’t trade him sit him let Ogltree play

what did Chis Chambers do today only been with KC for a week and already has 100 yard game – and caught the game winning throw – or throw that set up KC to win

when we a throwing the ball its more like the 07 team

http://www.pro-football-reference.com/teams/dal/2007.htm
07 stats
passing 342 for 4105yards
running 419 for 1746 yards

and by the way were only held to six points twice in 07 the next lostest score was 20 points

And HOS Free can play tackle - but I still go for a LT in the draft
LG Mike Iupati, Idaho 1st round – LT in the second – Inside linebacker in the third

Wrong... Dallas should be a running team because Romo isn't a QB who can throw the ball 35 plus times a game and the offensive line isn't that good at pass protection.

What ever the hell happened to balance! Good ****ing grief. Why do we have to pass more or run more. How about being balanced?

150 yards is good, now if the QB can actually make some throws to go with that running game...

Today's game was close because Romos bad play kept it close, he made up for it in the end but still... We go pass happy in this one and it's a loss guarantied 2 of his first 4 passes hit defenders in the arms and you want to blame the running game for our poor offense?

I want a team that can win a game like we did today.

I want a team that can adjust and become a pass dominant team when it is called for an vice versa for the run.

When it starts getting cold and we hit the road "if" we go to the Playoffs, we will need a very solid running game.

I want more BALANCE. Today was lopsided towards the run, but I want to see more of a 50/50 split.

Flat wrong. We are 4-0 when Romo throws for over 300 yards.

Look at our record since he's got there. He gets enough throws and we win about 80% of the time

Actually it's not the fault of the run game that we didn't win by more. The fact that Romo was off target on some passes, and his receivers were dropping passes, cost us taking advantage of some oppurtunities through out the game that were there because the running game was going so well.

We don't have to be heavy one way or the other. A nice, solid, effective balance will be just fine. And besides that your thought process can easily be trumped by last week. Last week we ran the ball 14 times, and threw it all over the place, and only scored 7 points as well and lost.

So the OP is totally wrong.

This team is pass first though. You have to be. Romo isn't a bus driver. We just need a good mix of running and pass plays. For instance, quit running on 1st down than throwing on 2nd and 3rd.

Look at history. Romo is rarely good in his first 4-10 throws. He's usually dynamite after that.

Plus he was playing hurt against the #1 ranked pass defense today so it's inaccurate to criticize based on today

The offense was efficient and productive when they ran the ball. If not for the fumble and missed FG, we have probably 10 points at the half, and can dictate play in the second half with a lead.

There are times when the offense is more explosive when passing, but it's not more productive and leads to mistakes. Running the ball minimizes those and keeps the other team's offense off the field and it wears on a defense so that in the 4th quarter you can put the game away.

I think a lot of posters don't realize the value of running the ball, even if it isn't very effective (which it was today).

You sir are incorrect (IMO). The essence of "balance" is something Red needs to work harder on. We cannot be predictable. We have far too many weapons to be a predictable offense. If we're predictable it's on the OC... Period. How many times today did I say "here comes the delayed draw"? & there it was... If I can see it while sitting in a packed house of rabid fans, I am pretty sure the Skins DC was eating JG's plays for breakfast from across the field. Balance is the key... not slinging it all over the place and disregarding the strength that we do have in the run. I would also like to see Choice mixed in a little more but that's neither here nor there right now...

Oh and these days, "balance" is a little overrated. Coming into today, Indy, NE, SD, AZ, and Dallas (among a few other playoff contenders) were among the least balanced teams in the league. So 5 out of 8 division leaders are arguably pass heavy.

It's going to be hard to trade RW now that the deadline has passed...
