Even if that were true, it wouldn't be indicative of the QB's talent. If that were the case, Mark Rypien would be considered better than either of them.

As would David Woodley.
He of the 6 years in the NFL, with 52.8% completions for a grand total of 8,558 yards.
48 TD's and 63 Int's. 65.7 career passer rating.

He started in a Super Bowl for the Dolphins.

I know you're not the one saying it RWB--but people--can we please stop using "Made it to the Super Bowl" as some sort of magic qualifier for the effectiveness of a QB?

Romo for me! Loved watching Romo play. Rivers can throw some pretty good baby-fits on the field.

Rivers was the 2nd overall pick.
Romo was a UDFA.

Proves how flawed the talent evaluation process really is.

Rivers gets such a pass from the media. I’m not even arguing Romo is HOF worthy, but he had Rivers have basically the same level of success in their careers.

They are the same exact qb...

With the exception Rivers didnt choke as much early on.. Romo had the potential to choke a game away completely. Same goes for Rivers.. in biggest games. He always came up short.

But I see Rivers and Romo as the same guy. Put up numbers, had some great games, stretches and moments.. but wasnt good enough to take their team over the top.

Really??? Com’ on MAN!!!!!!!! Romo all day everyday even in between days. Dak will surpass Romo but until that happens Romo is still the best QB in Cowboys history.

He'll eventually get in. I don't think it's possible to be 8x pro bowl at one of the big 3 positions (DE, LT, QB) and not make Canton, especially since it's not like the non existent chargers fanbase was voting him it (his 8 pro bowls was pretty much all coaches and players voting him in which says ALOT)

Different era. Pro-bowls mean very little.

He has never been an all-pro or NFL MVP, the stats he has are inflated in the passing era, he’s failed multiple times in big moments (leads in turnovers in the clutch since 2006)

He has longevity, but that’s where it ends. He’s no Brett Favre.

Both were tiered similarly throughout their career. Who would you say was the better QB
Rivers body of work is just better. Part of what makes a player better is their availability.
It's not like Romo in his "short" career was a shooting start like Terrell Davis. To me even when Romo was playing he was at or below Rivers level, in terms of TD's completions, yards, etc
Rivers did make a championship game. He played on a torn Achilles back in 2007. He did beat Manning in a wild card game.
Going back to the 2004 Draft class I would take Rivers over Eli but not before Big Ben. The sad part is that Rivers/ Chargers ~ Romo/Cowboys. The Chargers are our AFC equivalent.
Injuries, bad luck, bad coaching, new and innovative ways to lose a big game in spectacular fashion. The irony is amazing yet comedic.

he's better than Dak.
