Who will lead the Cowboys in sacks?

He was 1 sack off of the team lead last year, and reports say that he's improved even beyond that. I have more faith in Collins after one good rookie season than I do any of the other candidates, who have shown to be injured disappointments thus far.

I'm not saying he can't lead in sacks; I'm saying it is not a good thing for a 4-3 defense.

Tapper is probably the better bet. Moore is just more my type of player...I like the dangerous nasty, blood thirsty, kind of Defensive players.

I get ya. My thinking is that the team doesn't have a breakout candidate for sacks from the outside, at least not this year. But I can see Collins establishing himself as a force at DT and ultimately leading the team with 8 or 9 based on improvement from last year.

I don't think that would be the worst thing. Besides, the shortest distance between two points is a straight line.

Personally i still remember all the posts here saying he didnt need Hardy to command the double team on the right. Yeah. Well. How did that work out? Let Lawrence walk. I dont care how many sacks he has. Let his back be some other teams problem.

No, I am just hearing that Collins is blowing Martin off the line with power which is something we havent heard since Martin was drafted, so either Martin is regressing, or Collins is actually a beast. Him commanding double teams will surely open up one on one matchups for our DE's. Or is that not how football works?

Yep. And that's why I have no faith in the player until he proves otherwise. And I'm not expecting it. While I would love to be proven wrong, that's exactly what he'll have to do, prove me wrong. Until that time comes, he's a non-factor and just another name on the roster. A guy playing out the last year of his contract who never lived up to expectations.
