Really thanks captain obvious. It's still a big game and there are statement games before the playoffs. If you want to prove you can beat a team like the Lakers playing at their best right now then this is the time. Especially considering how close these two are in the standings and potential home court in a possible matchup. I would say this game is pretty big.

Still you gotta admit that was one impressive perfomance by LA last Sunday against San Antonio.
That game meant nothing because it wasn't in the playoffs.:laugh2: That is what I would call a statement. Does that mean the Lakers are going to beat the Spurs in the playoffs? No. Does it mean the Spurs aren't that great? No. It just served notice to the Spurs that if they aren't ready to play and don't make adjustments they can expect more of the same that happened on Sunday.

Sorry but it does mean something. To say it means nothing is ridiculous. The Lakers just flat out exposed the Spurs big time. Duncan looks pretty much done (2 points lol) and without him playing at a high level I really don't see how they can defeat the Lakers. San Antonio can win a game or two against the Lakers but that's about it.

You do realize the Spurs had a 7 game lead on there closest competition ..... right?

You do not think that makes a difference in how hard they play every night?

Sickens me how many Cowboy fans are also Laker fans .....

Makes me understand how other teams fans view us.
Mavs fans are the only fans that can claim the Cowboys as thier true "home" team. All fans of other teams get thrown in the same bag. I Rockets fan for example has a "true" home team--they are called the Texans.

There are Cowboy and Laker fans everywhere though, so I can see how it could happen (not for me though).

To make things worse, I think the Lakers will pull the three-peat. sux

Unless the Mavs can upset them in round two--which I don't see happening, especially if they end up losing the home court advantage to them--I see the Lakers at least in the NBA Finals.
Did I say it sux?

I think that lead is more due to health than anything. They have missed far fewer games to starters than the mavs, for example.

The records would be the same...jmo.

But good luck in the health dept. is part of the whole thing, so congrats to the Spurs so far. They still have to win the games.

This and this. I'll give a small pass on the Yanks to the older fans who go back to when there weren't nearly as many teams, and none in the south.

No I was actually agreeing with you and mocking the post by casmith about the regular season having no statement games. That was a statement game by the Lakers as I explained.

Mavs won't lose home court to the Lakers if they beat them at home Saturday. Huge game. Wish I was going to be going.

Agree about Cowboys+Lakers fans, but I generally ignore that sort of person anyway. They don't count as fans to me. You can't be a fan of the team unless you've lived in that city for at least a couple years.

As proven as the Lakers may be, it's also proven that they're vulnerable without Bynum. Everything pretty much hinges on him. You've got to have 3 bigs that can contribute. You know what you'll get from Gasol and Odom. Bynum is the question mark.
