Trying to be honest and not sound too much like a homer on this one. But really, as it stands right now- what QB would you take over Romo? I only came up with 3. Brady, Palmer and Peyton. That's it - there are some that are close calls but only 3 I would trade Romo for without hesitation. Speaks loads of Romo's talent or the lack of quality QB's in the league right now.

Brady and Peyton definitely (assuming we get them both at Romo's age). Maybe a 2005 Palmer. He hasn't exactly tore it up this year. Other than that, no one.

The fact is that there is no way to form an educated opinion on this because despite how Romo has played, he still has no proven history.

If I knew Romo were going to continue as he has I'm not sure I would even trade him for Brady or Manning because those guys are older and presumably have fewer years left to play.

But without that certainty, without any lengthy history to draw on, it would be hard to not only pass on those guys, but on guys like Drew Brees, Palmer and maybe a few others. Although hedging can sometimes cost a chance at some rewards, it also eliminates a heck of a lot of risk.

Nevertheless, at this point there aren't more than 5-6 guys I would even think worthy of consideration.

i' say the same 3 guys.it is a little early but he just seems to have "it", and he's got the hottest girlfriend too

I think it would not be fair, given that Romo never got any "hype" or media from the Draft. He was practically a nobody... so we had no real chances of knowing what he was.

The question is... what will romo become?
I think we will be able to fairly compare Romo with Brady and Manning when Romo has at leat 1-2 years as a solid starter!

I'd say Brady and Peyton are the class of the QB class. After that you have Palmer, Brees, Trent Green, and a bunch of other guys (along with Romo) that all have one flaw pretty much.

P Manning, Palmer, Brady, Rothlisberger, Brees, Rivers

But...I could some of these in favor of Romo very soon......

Brady, Peyton, Palmer, Brees, Rivers.

Then again, not a bad list considering all make 10 times Romo's salary.

I really like Rivers. Brees is also good. Brady for sure right now.

Would love to see a Romo Rivers Superbowl. Although vanquishing Brady/Belicheck would be a much nicer feather in Romo/Parcells collective cap.

I was thinking Rivers as well, maybe Brees, would like to see Romo in a few more games. Under fire, see how he does. Right now, the way Big Ben is playing...no. If like his previous seasons, yeah, probably.

Would anyone take a healthy Mcnabb of a few yars ago over Romo. No one mentioned Hasselbck either. At least Favre wan't mentioned :D

It's all about age, to me. He's playing this well now. He's got alot of year ahead to get better. The rest of the top level QBs are all over 30, pretty much. That's why I said Palmer. Rivers maybe, but I wonder how good he really is. I wager alot of QBs could do alot of things with the greatest player in the league taking all the attention. But prolly Rivers, too.

I'd probably add Roethlisberger to the list as well. When he's healthy and is able to concentrate and prepare for football, he's really quite incredible.

He's a bus driver.

This is crazy. Romo did throw and INT and fumbled (ala Bledsoe) in the 1st half vs Indy. Fortunately, the defense came up BIG against the high-powered Colts offense. Romo had a solid second half but everyone has the guy in Canton already.

I credit Romo with really putting the team on his shoulders in the Carolina game. Other than that he had a bad second half vs. Washington. He beat Arizona which was expected and the defense carried the team vs. Indy.

So let's calm the Romo hysteria.

by the way here's my list of those I would take over Romo:

Brady
Manning
Manning
Rivers
Green
Vick
Hasselbeck
Roethlisberger
Pennington
Bulger
Leinart
Young
Carr
Palmer
McNabb
Delhomme
Brees
