Who Would You Take Over Romo?

This is crazy. Romo did throw and INT and fumbled (ala Bledsoe) in the 1st half vs Indy. Fortunately, the defense came up BIG against the high-powered Colts offense. Romo had a solid second half but everyone has the guy in Canton already.

I credit Romo with really putting the team on his shoulders in the Carolina game. Other than that he had a bad second half vs. Washington. He beat Arizona which was expected and the defense carried the team vs. Indy.

So let's calm the Romo hysteria.

While I agree it's a tad early to get carried away, your breakdown is clearly flawed and it is clear that you are doing so to start a flame war.

If a TD, no INTs, a should have been 74 yard TD and several key throws to set up a game winning try for Vandy is a bad half, I'll take that half every week.

Quincy was responsible for his own downfall - not being with Parcells wasn't the problem.

Testeverde had many of his best years before he ever played for Parcells, and he didn't do much after playing with Parcells because he was 63 years old at the time.

Ray Lucas never did anything notable with or without Parcells.

Vick---no way in hell, ever...maybe you consider Vick if Romo needs a RB behind him, although we already have two of those
Hasselbeck--maybe, but Romo isnt as mistake prone
Roethlisberger---no
Pennington--no, major arm questions
Bulger---maybe, although I think the talent is similar
Leinart---not now...in April yes, but not today
Young---you have to be kidding
Carr--no way
Palmer--yes
McNabb--no
Delhomme--no way in hell
Brees--maybe

based on what we've seen, its hard to argue that there are more than 4-6 QB's a team would rather have...that might change as we see more games, but based on what we have to go on now, 4-6 is about it

nobody around the league or talent people ever said "boy that Ray Lucas or Quincy Carter are good QB's, we need somebody like them"

on the other hand, seems a concensus that people think Romo is pretty good...

Leinart - Romo has 4 yrs under his belt, Matts still learning ... NO
Young - No thank you...5 yr. project...can't read defenses at all
Carr - Talented, less Moxie more Arrogance and can't put it together.
Palmer - YES
McNabb - very talented, but CHOKES
Delhomme - Nope - many boneheaded throws
Brees - Yes

Trying to be honest and not sound too much like a homer on this one. But really, as it stands right now- what QB would you take over Romo? I only came up with 3. Brady, Palmer and Peyton. That's it - there are some that are close calls but only 3 I would trade Romo for without hesitation. Speaks loads of Romo's talent or the lack of quality QB's in the league right now.

Thats enough for me to be thankful you arn't running the show. Rothlisberger stinks unless his run game is dominating. He can't do it alone. Romo on the other hand has proven he can go it alone if he has too. Now we just have to see if he can do it over the long haul.

Crapfullberger wouldn't never make it onto my team unless he was a backup and I had a dominate running game.
