Who would you target if they move up from 58 to 44?

TE...I don't want to risk waiting until 58 because I think a lot of the top guys will be gone by 50. Teams may not want to go TE in the 1st round but from 30-50, that's the sweet spot

I was looking at the trade chart last night, the Cowboys can get as high as pick #44 if they trade their 3rd, pick #90. Giving up 129 (4th), will get up to pick #54. Who would you target at pick #44?
English?

If the first two rounds could net us Kancey and Avila, I'd actually be willing to wait and take our chances on finding a No. 2 back in the fourth (even though I actually want us to take one before the end of the third round).

With such a deep corner class, it would be a poor drafting job if they didn't take at least 1 corner.
Ive disagreed about the quality of the CB class, but I do see it as a class where you could develop guys from late day 2, early day 3 into top 2/3 guys. With Diggs, Bland, Gilmore and Lewis thats all they really need. Although Forbes, Banks, or Porter would be really nice

If you are telling me Dallas can move back into the second round from 26, and then move up in the second round with the natural second round pick and get two of these guys, then I am on board.

Torrence and Washington. The Dallas run game would be unbelievably stout. Not to mention the passing game would offer Dak extra time to make a decision.

And moving down from 26 should bring in a nice pick. Especially if its the Raiders trying to get a QB. They draft at 38 in the second. And the Jets have two picks back to back at 42 and 43.
I tried to do the math. It looks like giving up 26, would cost the Raiders a 2 and 3 and Dallas would owe them about 110 points.
Can we give him a certain CB Joesph for the 110 points lol

Really? Man this is the best class I can remember since the year we got Chido and JLew.

It's more of a 2024 priority, but they have to start developing a future starting corner as both Joseph/Wright don't appear to be answer.

You guys are funny. You would give away picks to move up and get Darnell Washington in the 2nd but wouldn’t just draft him at #26 because of perceived value. If a player can come in and immediately help you win games does it matter where you take him? Especially in this draft when draft experts are saying there’s not much difference between late 1st round guys or late 2nd.

And that's exactly how the Cowboys will operate. Same thing they did with Tyler Smith last season. The media draft guys said Smith was a 2nd round pick, and maybe he was. But he was a player Dallas targeted, wanted, and decided not to wait on and hope he made it to #56, or hope they could make a trade to get him. Instead they took the player they wanted and the "draft experts" went nuts over value, though it was their value and not the Cowboys.

Same thing is going to happen next week. This is a weak draft at the top and there is a very good chance that there isn't a player on the board at 26 that Dallas has a 1st round grade on. So in all likelihood Dallas will be picking a 2nd round graded player that best fits their needs at 26. So when guys like J. Gibbs, D. Washington, or S. Avila, are selected you'll start hearing the moaning about perceived value again just like we did in 2022.

Actually.........what would cost to trade out the 1st with let's say Texans, Rams or Raiders? I'm reading more and more that Hooker isn't getting out of the 1st. Rams, Raiders and maybe Texans may want to trade back into the 1st ahead of the Saints at 29.

I think that Hooker is the best qb in this draft.

They have major interest with Forbes, he is one that definitely will consider at 26.
I hope so. I love the kid and rarely do you see a guy who is such a natural CB. His ball skills absolutely can’t be coached. You can add weight and coach technique… but you’re not going to be able to teach him those instincts.

He is a born corner.

No need to sell me. I sense they will take a corner somewhere within the top 3 rounds, hoping it's him.

I hope it is him too. With those natural instincts and his athleticism, his ceiling is sky-high. And frankly, I think his floor is high too.

He’d be a really good pick that would play this year and probably start next year.

Can you imagine him picking up tips this season from Gilmore with his born ability?

If they trade up to #44, it will not be for their 44th ranked player.
- It would likely be for a player they have ranked top 30.
