People always misanalyze this kind of draft choice. A guy who is pretty good to good for 15-16 years is going to be worth more than someone who has 3 great years and sucks thereafter.

The value in Ellis is that as a character guy, he's going to do the things to keep himself in shape and therefore be available for a long long time. As far as his competition goes, ame a single DE in that draft still with this original team.

True, but face it had Dallas not been going through the ordeal they were with guys like Lett, Irvin, Eric Williams or a few others Jerry very well could have drafted Moss. It is hard to sit there and say that we are going to clean things up and then turn around and draft Moss who had his own issues
